While this is certainly the case for a large amount of buyers, it does possibly put them in the position of having given the upcoming Tacoma and Ranger an advertising point they wouldn't otherwise have. And unlike the pony car market, advertising is actually done in the truck market. The "masses" are not like the enthusiasts. They are far less likely to investigate any deeper than what an ad tells them about a potential purchase.

Both Ford and Toyota rumored to have a hybrid option on their midsize next gen trucks. That's where it's going to hurt GM unless they can offer an ICE and BEV twins in parallel.

4D00 though, hopefully its just a formality. There is no reason it should be 4D00 after 1.5 months sitting there

So I knew the center console/armrest wasn't standard on W/T but it still looks bizarre.

Agreed. Their "cost saving" measures for this generation are definitely just to drive the buyer to seek higher trims/packages. I can't get over that a $40k Z71 doesnt come with standard power seats or a damped tailgate.

Hey prospective buyers, here's a huge screen WT buyers don't need and less concealed storage they do need.

Consider this....Concealed storage or not, never leave anything in the vehicle you don't want stolen. An open and visible empty storage compartment is a
low tech break-in deterrent. "Nothing to see here" will save your vehicle from costly break-in repairs.

At least it's some consolation (no pun intended) for what you don't get...lol

That is a good tip, but we know that won't happen.

So I guess this center console config also deletes the rear vents for backseat passengers? Also something WT customers might appreciate.

Did you link the wrong article? That's the Ranger there.

Side note: my opinion, said it before, I'll say it again, but the Ranger just looks completely un-remarkable. There is almost nothing exciting or controversial in it's design, whatsoever.

The photos of the U.S. spec version looks to be pretty much the same thing, but maybe Ford will have some changes up it's sleeve for the design.
