3 Inch MagnaFlow Exhaust

Too Cool!
By the way, Magnaflow has developed a catback 3 inch system. I will give you the lowdown where you can get it at a decent rate when I get the info in hand. I want that deep muscle sound!

The 3" exhaust is designed for higher HP applications....but according to several of our vendors, the factory exhaust causes minimal losses even at high power (500+rwhp).

The after cat and axle back systems are mainly for sound.

JMHO, but if you are doing H/C, NOS, or FI you might consider an aftermarket system, otherwise you should just change it for sound purposes.

If you do an after cat or axle back system you probably would not get much additional power out of the tune...again JMHO.

You shouldn't loose any HP. You should gain some HP with a good catback.

TQ loss is the concern on unmodified engines.

I havent seen any dyno sheets that support that. All dynos I have seen show an improvement in power before tune and more after tune.

Magnaflow will have the 3" system available in the next week or so! I will post more information in our Magnaflow thread HERE once I get it.

At this time Magnaflow is planning on a 3" Cat-Back part # 16483; I'm not sure if they will offer a 3" Axle-Back.

I would honestly recommend staying with 2.5" exhaust unless you're planning on making over 500 RWHP. The 3" system is simply too much for these engines unless your planning on Long Tubes (I recommend American Racing Headers), Head and Cam package, forced Induction or NOS.

Please feel free to call, email or PM us with any questions.

Guys we just finished version two of the Texas Speed Rumbler 5 catback with some tweaks & the addition of the Magnaflow muffler option! You'll be able to get a catback system with the Magnaflow or bullet mufflers for pricing that rivals most companies axle back system. We all know the mufflers aren't where a lot of the power is, the power gain will be the 3" pipe & the redesigned center section complete with x pipe!!
