Hopefully anyone who buys a new Silverado from now on will make sure it is not one from Mexico. Mexico also builds GMC Sierra models. Buyer beware. |

If I get my way I'd like to get a GMC Sierra AT4 Crew Cab (is that the full rear seat?) with short bed 6.2 liter, in a couple years.

Pretty sure Mexico makes the 1500 series only....but they may also be made in Flint or Fort Wayne....I keep google searching for the details....It's not that hard to google them....where are silverados made, etc...Good luck. Might want to look here as well http://gmauthority.com/blog/2018/08/...n-infographic/ ....Actually it looks like some of it is still unclear what is made where lol...Good luck, but I think the four doors will come from Mexico....not sure... My 2011 was built in Mexico. Have to say mines been a good one for the past 7+ years other than a crack in the dash.

Very common crack, right at the airbag. I started working as a GM tech when your body style came out. Rattles and squeaks we're the most complained about issue with them. They run well, but after mileage accumulation they get noisy.

I thought all Crewcab 1500s were assembled in Mexico?
Mine is, and I'm not happy about that in the slightest.

Found this from earlier this year... "Silverado production will begin this summer in Fort Wayne, Ind. and Silao, Mexico. The latter plant will produce the most popular Crew Cab body configuration, which accounts for about 60% of 2017 sales of Silverado and GMC Sierra. Workers in Fort Wayne will produce the regular and double-cab versions. GM has invested about $3 billion to retool Fort Wayne, Silao and a third assembly plant in Flint, where is makes the larger 2500 version of Silverado and Sierra." This article states that soon there will be only three plants for the new '19s...http://gmauthority.com/blog/2018/08/...n-infographic/ Oshawa is still configuring '18s....Until they go to all '19s without Oshawa...Hopefully more detailed info on exactly what and where will be available soon after the dust settles with the end of the '18s... Not sure what the difference is between a double-cab and a Crew cab....To me it's a little confusing, and probably difficult by design to ascertain where each truck is made....Anyway, a 1 as the first number of the VIN is a US made truck...3 will be a Mexican build. Good luck. |

Double cabs have the short rear doors, still 4, but not as long as the crewcabs. So it stands to be then, that if you want a crewcab 1500, it's Mexican assembled.
