How many A8 owners never had a prob?

How many of you with a A8 never had any trouble with the A8 Auto trans?

Picked up a car with the A8 that never had work done on the car but normal service. Car just drives insane and seems better than all of my A6's.

Had my 2016 2SS from 2016-2019. 3 years no problems and the car was tuned and trans shift points alter. Car had cam/heads/high ram/headers/TB/CAI & NOS. Downshifted that A8 up and down with no problems.

Mine had 300 1/4 mile passes and 12500 miles. Never had the fluid changed, ever. I went thru 2 motors and the trains and converter that came in the car was in the car when I sold it in 2020. The new owner finally broke the diff after another 30 or more passes but the trans still hauled ass with over 850 rwhp for the drag strip and 730 for the street. I did dump the fluid out of the converter when I changed motors but it was clean and red as it came from the factory, so I just filled the converter back up and made more passes. Hell of a tranny to get punished like I did.

Got a 2015 Z51 C7 . Nothing like the crappy new 2019 C7 i had that i had to lemon law. This car rides like a caddy on smooth roads and makes my 2008 C6 seem like a rough rider. No mods were ever done on this car. Not sure what i will do for mods.

Bought my ‘17 2SS new. Tuned out the converter slippage table pretty much right out of the box. Have never had any issues with it. Making 1059 WHP now, 900+ WHP for over 3 years, and have a stack of mid 9 second timeslips to show for it. Pretty hard to complain about that from a stock transmission…

Zero issues with my A8 since day 1 when I took delivery five years ago. Preventive flush 2x, each time with the then recommended latest fluid, the latter one was the real deal. Transmission is tuned and works like an absolute charm. A very stout unit that works extremely well with a tune.

2017 2SS with the A8. Bought it used about 2 years ago. It did have a fluid flush before I bought it.

I did have to take it in for the hard 1->2 shift on first start and it threw a code one time. This is a know issue in the 2017 trans software and there is a TSB with a software update fixing both problems.

Running great ever since.

I forgot to mention I had a C7 with the A8, shuddered when I bought it and GM flushed it under warranty. We put 15,000 miles on it and 100 passes down the track and it was stellar also with just bolt on stuff. I did break an axle but never the trans.

Someone at work got a 2017 A8 Camaro and had the triple flush and still has shudder. So far i see nothing wrong with this A8. I am sure a tune would help more. With the Z51 you get a better gear and this car pops up to 80 in a flash. I only drive in heavy stop and go in 45 to 30mph zones 90% of the time. Only thing i can cry about is a dim backup cam and the NPP is not loud enough most of the time unless you get on it.

So maybe a tune and louder catback . Maybe even headers.

I wonder if anyone really knows what the real prob was with the A8? Was it the AFM? I put a Range on my 2019 C7 at around 150 miles and got shudder at 400 miles. Car was built in Feb 2019 after the so called fluid change but maybe the trans was built before.

Odd how some cars never had a prob and others did even after all the fixes.

2016 SS had transmission shudder, 3x flush seemed to take care of it 5k miles without issue. Sold and got the A10.
