Are Camaros natural dust magnets?

I have had my car since last July and it was stored 6 months all winter but in the short 1200 miles I have had it this thing is always covered in dust. It has never been driven in rain either. I just washed Sunday and 1 trip 12 miles of driving it is covered in dust. My truck on the other hand will take atleast a week of driving to have some dust but it never gets as much as my car. Both are ceramic coated with CQuartz UK 3.0 and topped with CQuarts SIC. I wash with Car pro reset and was using a California car duster last summer on the car followed by Echo2 detail spray in detween regular washes. I was told the duster created a static charge so I washed Sunday and the car is still covered in dust after only 12 miles. SOme people say some cars naturally will generate more static charge than others but I dont know.

Are you saying our Camaros are electric?

Kidding aside, I think we just notice it more because we love these cars. Depends on the color, too, the darker the paint, the more noticeable light surface dust is.

My 2015 1LE is horrible. By far the worse I've ever had at collecting dust on the exterior. Number 2 was my 2011 Silverado interior. Those garbage gm cloth seats collected dust and lint like a magnet.

It seems like my car attracts dust pretty quickly. But I also work next to an active gravel pit.

The zl1 is low and has wide tires, maybe it stirs more dust.

Mine is just dirty.

All depends what you coat your car with. Any slimy armor all like products will cause dust to stick.

Yes I agree that these cars somehow collect more dust. I use the same products on mine and my other car. Both are dark color, Camaro = green, other car = black. Camaro definitely collects dust more, on all body panels. It's a phenomena.

As a frequent west-Florida beacher, I'll tell you that the square rump end and diffuser on our cars both do a very good job of sucking air up off the ground to generate downforce ... super powdery fine silica quartz beach sand included.

If I were do to do it again, I'd PPF the whole car so I wouldn't have to sweat holding back the itch to "de-grit" the sand off the rear end every trip.

Solution for wheels: Powerstop Z26 pads and a good ceramic+hydrophobic coating. Makes no dust, and no dust sticks to it at all.

Be glad you don't have the first gen ground effects they make a nice shelf for the dust to lay on guaranteeing you'll be cleaning after every trip...lol...

My is in a nice, fully enclosed, well lit, new garage along with my 500+ closest friends. 1 week after washing, just sitting there innocently, the silt begins accumulating. After 2 weeks, you can call it a layer. Maybe white is not the best color here.

Brake dust is huge with the OEM pads, I use a California Duster on mine, but I hold it up so it barely touches the paint (just let the end of the fibers touch the paint), works fine and mine is a very dark color (Shadow Gray Metallic) and it doesn't create any scratches... If the layer is really heavy, it gets a foam canon and a 2 bucket wash...

I can deal with the dust, it's the pollen that pisses me off, it gets so bad here in Louisiana that my Hot Red turns into bright yellow.
