Normal, these modern cars just run a little rich. I wipe my tips at least once a week.

I clean mine at least once a week at the same time I clean my wheels. Keeps them
looking like new. I do this even if I'm not cleaning the entire car.

I use an All purpose cleaner and a "wheel woolie" to keep them clean, it is a losing battle however.

Do you have a catch can? It's carbon build up but i think if you keep the oil flying through your system, the build up would be that much greater. Can someone else confirm this?

catch can won't do anything for your exhaust. the carbon is coming from the gas burning. in fact, anything that burns creates carbon |

Good quality exhaust tips, not stock are easier to maintain. I clean mine once a week and wax occasionally.
Catch cans are for those who want to do everything they can to take care of their cars. Anyone saying not to put one on a DI engine is simply a spammer, a number of them on C5. |

mine are pretty bad but do come clean somewhat when I just wipe them down... don't know why GM make the interior of them look good with the buildup that will happen.

I used to fight the battle on keeping them clean, but I gave up.

Have after market exhaust and just clean the tips every time I go for a drive. Only a Sunday driver overall and not too big of a deal.

I get it on the tips and on the back end my car(White car). I assume they stock tune these things to run rich.

Yes. GM tends to have a rich stock tune on these cars.
