Step by Step Stingray to Z06 Grille Upgrade With Pics!

Step by Step C7 Stingray to Z06 Grille Upgrade

Direct Fit in less than 2 hours

Author: The Guru

We took a Z51 Stingray and installed the GM Accessories Z06 Carbon Flash Grille upgrade.

Check out the difference! Goodbye Base...Hello Z06!

Remove both Left and Right cable channels. These are not bolted, just slide them out.

Remove all lower fasteners. You will need 9/32, 10mm, and t25 sockets along with an angled push pin removal tool.

Wheel Removal Time!

Make sure you disconnect the side marker lamp connectors. Next remove the two 9/32 bolts and bracket.

Time to move back up top. Start with your trim tool and remove the push pins. Next remove the bolts.

BE CAREFUL! Now it's time to remove the fascia from the front of the car. Firmly and evenly pull outward to release the 3 clips olong the fender.

For the upper fascia seam, use a non-scratch trim too to help pop the VERY tight clips. Again, exercise great caution!

Now the fun part! Remove your entire Fascia! Make sure you didn't forget to unplug your side markers!

Place the fascia on a suitable work stand. We are using an actual body shop stand. Remove the upper screws and the side pressure clips.

Using a flat bladed screwdriver, carefully start at one one and release the bumper clips. It will be wise to have a second set of hands applying pressure upward to that it doesn't keep popping back into place as you work along the grille.

Time to install the new grille. Line up the grille with the bumper clips, and gently apply pressure to get the grille to seat into place.

Time to grab your assistant again. Carefully pick up your fascia and line it up on the car. Again, be careful with your body seams. Reinstall all of your hardware, going backwards in the steps above.

Enjoy! Such a simple install and a HUGE difference in appearance!
