Thanks camaro1. I didn't think it was a "real" problem but I always like to know what is going on with my vehicles.

So glad I found this thread!

I heard it for the first at a stop light shortly after leaving work. Were located in a not so great area and it was about midnight, first thought was someone walked up on me looking to take something of mine.

Thanks for solvin' the mystery!

I've been away from here for a couple months. But I'm glad I came back.

I've heard this quite a few times. First time I heard it I thought someone was standing behind my car tapping the trunklid with long hard fingernails.

First thing I thought of was the spoiler bolt problem. I did look for the screw/bolt of the spoiler and discovered one is missing. Now I gotta find a way to use a magnet to pull out the loose nut inside the trunklid.

I'm voting that it's the gasoline sloshing back and forth in the tank...Nobody has said it yet and I get ALL the credit if that's it!!!!

definitely not the sound of gas sloshing around in the tank. I kid about the sound before but this morning, I actually finally heard it. It does sound like someone tapping their fingers in the back. Tap tap tap.... can't blame my son sitting in the back seat this time.

If the camaro fuel system is like other direct injection engines it might be an intank fuel pump.

I was thinking it was the fuel pump priming, as well. Haven't heard it for awhile, maybe I've just gotten used to it.
