Do these cars have no security system?

No, I didn't read the forums or search anything, I am just reaching out to see if I'm the only one with this issue.
I am more than pissed. I'm about to sell this car 40 days after buying it, custom ordered from the factory.
This is the second time in 30 days I've been broken into, smashed the driver window, 27 days later I got the car back from the body shop as the door needed paint and door panel needed to be replaced due to damage, and last night my passenger side got broken into. Nothing to even steal, both times they just pulled all the very important paperwork out of my glove box to get rained on, both times extremely hard rain soaking the seat door and carpet.
I'm passed because this is twice now no alarm, no mychevrolet notifications, and no on star notifications. The first time I called on star and asked if they monitor break ins or know anything and the lady had an attitude and said yes we monitor that, so I asked if they noticed I was broken into, and she said no and asked with an attitude why I was calling her and not 911, so I hung up on her because they're useless. They called like the next week and asked me to pay for on star and I cussed the poor guy out and said not no but F no.

Is there not a freaking security system on these cars? How did they smash my windows out, open the door from the inside, rifle through my stuff, and leave it in the rain for me to not know about?

Your car wasn't stolen right? FYI - Most of today's factory car security systems focus on preventing car theft, not break-ins. There's just way too many ways a thief can gain access to the inside of a vehicle for a factory security system to cover, so they try to focus their systems on the inability for a thief to steal the whole car. Smashing the glass, prying open trunks and doors isn't the focus of these systems.

Onstar didn't alert you because your car was never started, nor did it move during these break-ins. Imagine how inundated Onstar would be with false break-in notifications if they put a security system in every car that activated under every break-in scenario. It would get to the point that Onstar would ignore those notifications exactly the same way most people ignore the horns going off on a cars security system in a parking lot!
If you live in an area where your car is being broken into on a regular basis then you either need to a) move the car to a more secure location. Or b) Buy a security system that is customized to the type of break-ins you're experiencing. However, keep in mind that there's not a single security system that stops smash and grab break-ins. They'll just alert you long after the thief is gone...

That being said, your security system did work...you still have your car.

I feel lol, T-town ain’t really the place for your whip. I wasn’t fortunate enough to have mine while I was at college. But if I was, I’m sure my stuff would have been messed with, dinged, and all sorts of other garbage by the time the 4 years was up. Good luck friend. Find a garaged apartment if you can afford a 2SS in college

Vehicle does not have glass sensors. OnStar is complete bullshit. All a thief has do you is disable OnStar and it is worthless.

That's disturbing. My son will be taking his Mustang to Alabama Honors College next month. Hopefully he doesn't have a similar experience. Were you on campus?

I'd suggest investing in a quality 3rd party professionally installed security system.

Dig a few holes around where you park, put sharpened bamboo spikes and cover with AstroTurf!!

According to page 335 in the 2021 Camaro manual in the OnStar section: Theft Alarm Notification If equipped, if the doors are locked and the vehicle alarm sounds, a notification by text, e-mail, or phone call will be sent.

Did you have a free OnStar trial active when the break ins happened?

If I remember correctly there are alarm settings if you go into the settings icon on the center screen. Make sure your alarm is enabled!

Also get a faraday pouch or box to store your keyfob when you're not in the car to make sure criminals can't repeat your keyfob's signal to trick the car into unlocking and starting using an antenna and repeater!

The alarm WILL sound if the doors/trunk/hood are in any way busted open without the remote control unlocking the doors and disarming the alarm first. If someone breaks a window but never opens the door from the inside, the alarm will not sound. That requires a shock sensor which the car does not have from the factory.

You need to take it to a good aftermarket electronics/car audio/car security installer to set up an aftermarket system with a shock sensor.

Add a shock sensor—maybe even a motion sensor if able. At bare minimum add a much brighter blinking security light.

Wait... We need way more back story.

Custom ordered 2020 Camaro 40 days after buying it, it was broken into 2x in 30 days?

So did you wait 3 years for them to deliver it? Or 3 years to start driving it?

what?!?!?

Go Mud Dogs!
