That's awful. I'm embarrassed for all involved.

Just looked it up, it's thankfully an option across the board.

I know one box I definitely wouldn't be checking.

Yeah, its an LPO option. Definitely not a good one either. That wheel in the bed thing is super awesome though.

The spare tire carrier has three bolt in brackets under the bed. I had to drill 11 holes in the bed to mount it. I would also do that one myself just to make sure it's perfect, lots to be desired in the instructions as well. It can also be removed and reinstalled. each bracket has it's own bolt to holt it in place while the carrier is out. It takes up a lot of bed when installed.

The keypad does look awful, but I am pretty sure it can be mounted anywhere on the vehicle as it's literally stuck to the door with double sided tape. The instructions say to mount it where I did, but when my 17 2500HD comes in the next few days I am going to see just how far it will transmit, I plan on putting mine in either the gas door or the toolbox so I will keep you updated. It's just a remote with a number sequence instead of a single button. You can lock the doors, unlock the driver, and unlock all with the keypad. I did not see anywhere that you could change a battery, so there's that.

The footwell/cupholder lighting is multi colored and can be selected, it can also do a slow fade from one color to the next or be turned off.

It is Cajun red, not a terrible looking color but not one I would choose. I LOVE the blue.

The Durmax is a slug for acceleration, but I would imagine it would be pretty good offroad at low speeds due to torque.

It came in at a coooool $49k lol Way to much for a toy for my tastes, it wouldn't be very good for towing or any real truck stuff aside from off-roading.

Oh, and some porn. It has these on front and rear.

Mine stickers for $44,895. Which I think is a bargain.

Granted there are some neat options for the ZR2, but my 15 half ton stickerd at $48k with leather and a lot of options and I can tow my 30ft camper fully loaded. I would want to put the ZR2 where it belongs, on the rocks and in the mountains but at that price I couldn't bring myself to do that. Maybe in about 5 to 10 years I would buy a used one and feel better about beating it.

The ZR2 pretty much comes loaded. Until you drive one off road, it's hard to put money on their worth. If it had the 5.3 it would best the raptor in about every category. And every day driving, I think the ZR2 is better.

I agree 100% the Colorado needs a 5.3L. I meant the trailer is loaded, not the truck, plenty of options I wanted but couldn't justify the cost lol. If I made enough money not to have to require my truck to pull trailers and and do general utility work I would consider a Colorado for sure. Unfortunately I have a budget that requires my toys cost much much less than my mortgage payment haha

Thanks for all of the pictures! I'm still waiting for my Red Hot ZR2 to come in. Mine will have both the bed-mounted spare tire carrier and the footwell/cupholder lighting.

Is there some kind of guide or suggestion with the spare tire instructions that tells you exactly where to position the tire carrier in the bed? My concern is that the carrier is mounted by the technician as far back as possible (like the one you installed) to preserve bed space. Also, I'm assuming the spare tire carrier underneath the truck is left intact to store the tire in the event that the bed space is needed?

Also, about the footwell/cupholder lighting; I've seen red and blue colors in other photos. There may be times that I just want white light. Does it do that?

I also ordered the bed (cargo) lighting package. Does it put out a decent amount of light? I'm hoping it's LED.

Thanks again for your feedback!

The bed mounted carrier can only be installed in a particular location depending on bed length. The longer bed mounts further back than the short bed. It's all dependent on where the underbed mounts are designed to go. You could leave the factory underbed mount but it will definitely rattle and clank due to the design of the tire hoist. However it is only one 15mm bolt to remove/install. They will also remove the heat shield as well. I suggest contacting the dealer and asking them to hold on to the original carrier if you want it just to make sure they don't toss it.

The cupholder lightning can go white. Red, green, blue, white, aqua, and a color fade are all options. There may be a color I am missing though. Before you sign the papers take a good look at the holes in the rubber part of the cupholder where the lights go through. They are a pain to make and the tech can easily mess up the rubber.

If the bed lighting is anything like the full size which is very likely is it LED and it's sufficiently bright.

Thanks @JerTM! If you were closer, I'd have you install the options when my truck arrives. Those were all questions I've had since I ordered the truck. I'm not sure when it's coming in. I ordered it on March 16 (ten weeks ago). The truck was built (VIN provided) the week of 5/15 and is still at the Wentzville plant with an event code of "4B00 - Bayed." I'm thinking something might be wrong with it as I understand this code can be used when a vehicle is pulled for QA.

If you have already signed the paperwork and have an active OnStar subscription you can use the app to find the location of the vehicle. My 2500hd is bayed for over a week now, it's just waiting at the train station for transportation to my dealership. It's literally 40 miles from me at the moment.

If that's the case, be thankful they found any flaws versus you ending up in the service department over and over. It could be anything though.

It turns out the truck has been in transit, not bayed! It arrived at the dealer last night or very early this morning. I will be picking it up on Monday. Here's a pic of the rock slider installation.
