I can see how being a hybrid will get if off the line quickly despite the weight. But it certainly can't be as nimble or responsive through the corners can it? The same with brakes, more weight, more inertia, longer braking distances.

The C8 is a GT first. That doesn't really hurt the E-ray. There's only so much that light weighting could help the Z06. People with the dough might think to wait for the ZR1, with the legs to move that sled.

The e-ray weighs roughly 300 lbs more than the regular c8. That’s not bad honestly. If they had dropped a supercharged v8 in there instead and remained rwd it would probably have only added 200ish lbs kinda like the c7 z06 did. Don’t forget, the weight is placed in better locations (lower center of gravity) versus dropping a supercharger and coolers on top of an engine so that might offset the 100 extra lbs versus adding a super charger.

That being said I’m sure it’s at least 1 second slower than the equally priced c8 z06 around a track. I wonder how much the torque of the e-ray will help it around the track though.

I wouldn't rule out the ICE yet. We're just seeing advertising and propaganda (not sure if this is the right use of the word). In reality most performance buyers (that I know) as well as pickup and SUV buyers demand ICE and v8 power. EVs just will not cut it in these genres.
