Skip shift has been around for 30 years, lol

The active rev matching is new, and the no lift shift can let you bang through the gears like the old rock crusher, though, lol.

With all the computer controlled throttle and such, you don't even need the throttle to get rolling off the line, for just every day cruising.

Not a whole lot of differences other than that, compared to 30 years ago, drivability wise, other than hill start, and the park brake.

The shifter is now located in the glove compartment.

Thanks for all the info. Looks like I will be reading the owner’s manual first!

Have to get caught up on rev match and skip shift!

I dunno man, you'll hafta see. I mean, I love my car- I like the way it drives, shifts, but there's so much extra little sh*t they do nowadays that I just could do without. active rev match= bleh. Grew up without it. Don't need it. Wish the paddles were off my wheel. But the 1st-to-4th gear skipping feature has to be the thing that annoys me most. Can be bypassed with a cheap gadget.

Hill assist is another thing I wish I could just turn off.

And I want my brake lever back.

Electronic rpm/torque management goin on, so like the guy above said, you can't just drop out the clutch at four thousand.

But none of this in any way would mean that I would discourage anyone from picking one of these up- Like I said, I love mine- but alot of the little modern quirks cars do takes some getting used to.

After over a year and half I'm pretty sure he's got it by now.

Good catch, I was on my iPhone this morning and didn’t see the start date on the thread. Just saw it was at the top of the page LOL.

  • Skip shift is no big deal you can drive around it or disable it without threatening the warranty.
  • Hill holder is nice to have and pretty good on the Camaro.
  • Rev matching is cool but I do as good of a job matching downshift RPMs. But I turn it on sometimes just for fun.
  • The stock shifter is pretty good. You can do better, but the improvement will be marginal. Not worth it to me. I can bang gears even better than with my old Ford top loader and Hurst.
  • The Tremec TR 6060 is one of the strongest and best Transmissions on the planet.
  • No Lift Shifting!!!!
  • "Save the manuals!"
  • If you are a manual guy at heart you will be in heaven.

I actually had a harder time getting used to the electronic throttle response when trying to engage the clutch for the first couple of months, but ultimately, the skip shift was the only complaint I really had. A $12 delete adapter and a half hour later, problem solved!
