CFD xmember flanges

CFD xmember flanges are installed finally!
Oil pan drops will be cake now 😉
Took it back apart to prime and paint. Let the primer cure overnight and paint tomorrow.
They take 7/16 bolts 1.5" long.

Thinking of doing this. Would also need to find someone local to do a good job on the cut and weld.

It's still not as easy as you would think. Trying to get the oil cooler off the side of the pan is a task, getting the wiring harness under the pan off and back on is a pita, and you have to unbolt your rack and pinion from the subframe and push it forward on the 2010 to 2013 models (I'm not sure about the electric power steering models 14-15). And you'll more than likely to have to have it realigned after unless you have a good method for marking the rack and pinion but sometimes you get lucky. But it still beats the alternative. lol

The hell it doesn't. When you unbolt it, it will move around on the subframe. Since the bolt holes are bigger then the bolts there self it's very hard to get it lined back up in the same place when you bolt back in. I know from experience because I've unbolted it to take the pan off 4 times and only got lucky once putting it back to where it was.

Didn’t have to touch my steering rack. Bought one of these from harbor freight unbolted the motor mounts and lifted the motor as high as I could. I got the oil pan out no problem after I cut the cross member.
