My whole life I’ve always pictured the perfect Camaro commercial as a guy gets into an SS or ZL1 or Z28 that’s triple black in his garage and you just see his hands start the car, the camera shows the exhaust tip as it fires to life, then back to his hands as they grip the wheel and shifter...... then the drum intro to “Rock n Roll” kicks in and you see him fly around the corner in real time then slowed down to half speed, burning rubber, rear wheels spinning and chunks of asphalt and rubber flying through the cloud of white smoke, then back to him, only on his face looking through the windshield from the front with the nose of that black Camaro in the middle of the screen and the guy with the biggest shit eating grin on his face.

No narrator, no words. Just fade to the Camaro logo.

I remember buying the cassette and playing it over and over again on my Walkman. As far as albums go, may be one of the greatest imo. Rocket queen is a sleeper song. Welcome to jungle was about axels experience in Seattle. My buddy who is a drummer feels the drummer who was gritty and slightly off beat gave the songs a unique sound. Those songs were my first love and it was very hard to make the jump to grunge, but I took the leap in the end. Regardless I still own all those songs. They’ve made jumps from cd to iTunes and a few different computers!

GnR was pre-Grunge in an amicable palette, smoothed around the edges.

They were huge, top of the heap. Axel turned out to be a huge douche. AKA the Canadian concert where he refused to go on stage where Metallica stepped in & owned it.

Regardless, Appetite was a wicked good album.
