100% stock ZL1 1LE - 1:58.7 VIR

I know there's been some talk about the AT vs MT (and I'm still a firm believer the a10 IS faster via no lift shifting on the straights) however was able to rip off a 1:58.7 at VIR on Friday. Too my knowledge a non-slick zl1 1le hasn't gone faster.

If the laptimers start at the same s/f line (which appears they do) - I'm 1.2 seconds ahead of the C/D auto lightning lap exiting oak tree. Excuse the claim at the end, I REALLY wanted to break 1:59 and this was only my second time ever at VIR with the car so I wasn't sure the conditions, traffic, and most importantly, the driver were gonna be able to align to pull it off.

Fastest lap starts at 4:00

The car is amazing. Lots of fun.

Nice lap! I don't believe the A10 is any quicker for 'one hot lap'... maybe a tenth at best. If those would read the review from the Lightning lap A10 results, they said the 'difference' in laptimes was mostly the 'coaching' they received from Bill Wise/GM showing them where they could go later into the brakes, and faster in the corners.

If you don't shift well... the A10 will make a huge difference... if you shift well... it's honestly a tenth or two at best. Now... if we're talking the Drag Strip... the A10 is going to hold that crown all day long!

Best regards,
Dave

Great driving! Congrats on the accomplishment. I've heard that yelling makes you temporarily stronger when lifting heavy objects, but in your case it also makes you faster!

That's some good driving for sure.

Aren't all the drivers for the Lightning Lap series not even professional drivers? Hence the reason why they have coaches. I'd wonder how much faster a professional driver could be with all the cars they've tested.
