20s vs 22s
hey guys,
sooo im having a discussion with my friends about whether to upgrade to 20s or 22s on my camaro. First off, it's a 2011 1LT. still has the stock 18s with stock bfgoodrich rubber. what i want: i know its a V6, and im not trying to make it look like a V8/SS/ZL1/Raced out camaro. all i really want is for it to look more agressive, and less "Bonestock". Just wondering if anyone has pix/stories of going from 18s to 20s or 22s. Do you wish you wouldve gone bigger (if on 22s) or smaller (if on 20s)? was it a hassle with the rest of the car's set up (i.e. loweing, tubbing, etc...)? overall what was your experience? and please, if you post pix, gimme a descriprtion of what you had/have and what you had to do to achieve the overall "look" of the car (which rims/tyre size/offest/etc..). I'm a total newb when it comes to thi , so im sorry for the frustration this might cause you, but i figure i'd try my luck on a forum as opposed to google.. thanks in advance. JC |

I would say max out at 20's... anything larger and you're getting into Donk territory

22's equals too much rotating mass and a pretty harsh ride. Stick with 20's.

When done right, dropped with 22's look great.
Matter of opinion of course. |

I'm struggling with this as well. I think 21 is the aesthetics sweet spot but the tires are out of this world expensive. Given that, i'd default to 20s.

I assume that was in response to my post. Yes, with lower profile tires you will feel the road more. Do some people care, no. Do some people have suspension mods that may help eliminate the effect, yes. I was just giving general information to try and help the OP out.
