Oil consumption
I have five thousand fun filled miles on my wonderful C7, and when I checked my oil today I was low. Oil pressure was fine. No oil light on. Oil temp normal. I had to add two quarts to get the level up to the area between the hash marks on the dipstick. Got delivery in January and I checked the oil level then and it was fine. Anyone else have this issue? Is it normal to use two quarts in the first 5 thousand miles? Thanks in advance for any advice. Jim D

Goldbug- thanks for the response. When you checked your oil levels, did you find that you needed to add oil and if so how much did you add over your first 5K. Thanks. Jim D.

We have 4300+ miles on our Z51. Most of it [3330 miles] during a round trip from Buffalo to Winter Haven, FL and return. I checked the level at every fill up and it has stayed within a 1/4 inch of where it was the day we picked it up. Enjoy your C7. If you drive it hard you should check the oil at every fill up.

Jim D - Do you have a Z51? If so, I assume you read the manual and have to warm the motor before checking the oil. If you do not it will show 2 quarts low.

I just hit the 1500 mark and my level stayed spot on from pickup until now. Z51 for me, so it includes letting the oil warm up, but that consumption sounds a bit high for normal driving. Hopefully some others with a few more miles can chime in.

I'll let you know, if/when I ever take delivery. (also 5k might take me a good portion of a year to accumulate)

Goldbug- I know you have heard this before, it's worth the wait. Everything good you have read about the c7 is true. It is a fantastic sports car.

Um I don't understand Z-51 same exact engine as the non Z-51 engine so checking the oil should be exactly the same. What am I missing.
