I agree. I think that's exactly where Cadillac needs to be (classy) in terms of design language with the exception of V-series.

Yawn......looks like my next car will be a CTS, not a CT5.

One of those few times when the real life shot seems to look worse than the reveal images/renderings. The rear still looks good to me...It feels different and attention getting but in a good way (my opinion) I'm assuming that is the first trim level that car is running. The wheels and what not don't look as big as the ones from the reveal shots, and its definitely not a sport trim (like the one I grey on page 1) which I think looks better.

I'll hold final judgement until more pictures are shown at the next auto show, but not super impressed at this point.

I completely agree. I don't like the design of the headlights or the front bumper cover.

I've all but lost hope that Cadillac will actually begin competing with BMW or Mercedes-Benz. At this time, I believe Lincoln is showing far more promise than Cadillac, which is disappointing because I've been closely watching Cadillac's long-awaited resurgence since the introduction of the CTS in 2002. If they would just build production vehicles that resemble their concept vehicles, they would be in a much better position today with respect to their brand recognition/prestige.

Yep....I agree also. I'm going to wait and see what the new Escalade is like. The Navigator is hitting it out of the park. Escalade will need to be something special inside and out.

Not usually a fan of the deep red-purplish color but this looks fantastic IMO.

The biggest thing holding Cadillac back is the shortcuts they take on the interior (and CUE). Instead of striving for greatness on the interior, they still seem to be trying to cost-benefit the materials like its a Chevy with a marginally bigger budget. They could build a car that looks exactly like the Escala or Elmiraj on the outside, but then they'd inevitably give it an interior that makes buyers wonder why they didn't just get an Impala instead.

I, too, am anxious to see the next generation Escalade (especially, its interior). I'm desperately hoping that it is a no excuses full-size luxury SUV flagship that has no problems competing with its European rivals. The recently debuted XT6 has diminished my optimism, however.

I absolutely agree. And what's most frustrating is that GM has the talent and resources to produce phenomenal vehicles (as indicated by Cadillac's fabulous concept vehicles over the last 10+ years) but they simply refuse to do so. Instead, with few exceptions, they continue to offer mediocre vehicles, especially with respect to interior design and build quality.
