First-Time Owner in Pittsburgh, PA Area
Hi Guys! I just picked up my first ever Camaro (and first ever sports car) last week and my wife and I love it! It's a 2015 2LT with the RS package in Blue Velvet Metallic. It has pretty much all of the interior options including the blue trim package and leather seats. What a great new toy!
My next endeavour is to figure out what to do when it inevitably snows here in the Pittsburgh area, as this is my daily driver. Ideally I'd pick up some sort of beater to drive while there's snow on the ground, but the other option is snow tires (since I believe the RS package gave me summer-only tires rather than all-seasons). Any suggestions if I go that route or experience with handling on snow? (If there's a specific forum/thread I should post in about this question, please point me in the right direction). Thanks guys! (Oh yeah, and my coworker's Mustang is no longer the coolest car in the lot! ) |

Congrats and welcome! I'm a little far from Pittsburgh being just south of Harrisburg, but I know there are a lot of great members here from that area so you'll be in good company. Enjoy and congrats on having the coolest ride in the parking lot at work!
As for the DD winter situation, I'd try to find a set of cheap rims and get a set of Blizzak snow tires. Those things are awesome and will allow you to cut through the snow with ease.

CONGRATS on your ride and Welcome to our happy little corner of the net, and to Camaro5. There is a BIG fridge on the back porch with anything you can think of in it...help yourself...of course only take what you can LEGALLY have. Make yourself at home on one of the big fluffy couches, kick your shoes off, put your feet up on one of the tables, yes we are allowed to do that, mom's, dad's, wives', husband's, girlfriend's and boyfriend's here don't care....and take it easy.
oh...btw....every once in a while a food fight breaks out...so you may not want to wear nice clothes here. Welcome!!

Question for you guys. When I get up around 40 MPH and higher, there is a noticeable whistle sound. My best guess is it seems to be coming from somewhere in the front end of the car from the air/wind hitting or passing through something. Is this normal or should I ask my dealer to take a look at it? It's not the end of the world but slightly annoying... doesn't seem like it should be normal. Thanks for any advice!
