2011 clutch pedal stuck once. Slave Cylinder?

I have had no other issue with clutch. No slipping, not spongy. It is has stuck down a handful of times. Any thoughts on a diagnosis?

I haven.t run into it with the gen 5 ss I,ve had for six years. But. It is common on the c-5 c6 c7 vettes. There is a return spring offered by Lingenfelter. Also helps to do the ranger clean up of the clutch fluid from time to time.

Search the forum this issue and you’ll see that almost always is due to dirty brake fluid gumming up the slave cylinder. If you’re still sharing the brake fluid reservoir for your clutch and have never flushed & changed the fluid that’s most likely the problem. DO NOT use the Ranger flush method UNLESS you have a separate clutch fluid reservoir.

I've had my clutch master go out twice on me in the Z. First was the original with 3k miles on it. Second I took from the 1LE (had a race, couldnt wait for new one) that had about 30k on it. I have a new one sitting on the tool box waiting for spring to install it. Pedal drops about 75% to floor then engages. Then the disengagement is right off the floor, and then needs to be pulled up manually from there.

It's a very common problem on 5th gens. Hard launches will cause it. I had the LPE clutch return spring on my car for years. Took it off when I got a new clutch. The return spring is a band-aid. I never tried to remedy the issue honestly so I haven't looked too far into it.

On my c6z, it was master and slave that took a shit. Usually it's either or, but can be both. Swap both, get a separate reservoir, and get a speed bleeder. Branch new clutch in a way.

It could be an issue with your clutch hydraulic system or a mechanical problem like a worn-out release bearing. Consider getting it checked by a mechanic for a proper diagnosis.

How would I know if it was a worn out release bearing?

So I have been driving it. (it is my son's car) Waiting for it to happen and it did. Back-to-back shifts while normal in-town driving. depress the clutch, shift, and the pedal stayed down. I quickly flipped it up with my foot. It did the same on the next shift. Both felt like less resistance on the way down. I had to pull back up then do normal shifting all the way home.

When it happened did the clutch disengage and stay disengaged until the pedal was pulled up?
