More stripe issues
So I've always had one scuff mark on my vinyl stripe for as long as I can remember, I thought at the time it was bird poop that had not been washed off quick enough. My car has been outside for the last month/ month and a half uncovered (usually is but was in a rush to leave town and couldn't clean it in time) I just got home and washed it and now there are tons of marks on my vinyl that won't come off with detail spray, car wash, or vinyl cleaner. I know this time there was no bird poop or anything besides allot of dust that I noticed. The lower left deepest mark is the one that has always been there.

You can try some vinegar

Thank you I know vinyl is a tricky thing to clean I'm always thinking I'm going to destroy the stripes. Can I scrub with vinegar and a soft cloth or just let it sit for a few seconds and try to wipe off?

I'd just dab it at first. You can always go more aggressive. I wouldn't advise scrubbing vinyl ever

I finally got a chance to try the vinegar... Even being aggressive I had absolutely no luck... Didn't seem to help whatsoever. Can I clay vinyl or will it not help at all? Whatever is on the stripe is completely smooth it's like its burned into it. I don't know what to do because if I get a new stripe I feellike the same thing will happen.

This may work.
However if those spots are "etched" into the decal you won't remove them. I've had good results with this on the carbon fiber hood cowl decals on my 2012 2SS A bottle is around 15-16 dollars. I would tend to think that if vinegar didn't remove them that they probably are etched though. |
