2016 Camaro LS Base?
http://www.camaro6.org/forum/297-6th...camaro-ls.html
Steel wheels, manual windows an door locks, black plastic front fascia... Interesting.. Expected to start under $20k. Literature from above link: "Chevy is leaving no stone unturned in its quest for Mustang crushing volume. Such extremes is Chevy taking that they will offer a -LS trim for the Camaro which will slot in below the 1LS and 2LS packages. Black plastic cladding adorns the front and rear bumpers, sill moulding, mirrors and door handles. Paint options will be limited to Hyper Blue, Nightfall Grey, Red Hot, Black and White. Steel wheels (available in black or unpainted steel ) come pre wrapped in Dunlop Graspic DS-3 winter tires, this is Chevrolets response to snowbelt area owners complaints that P245/55R18 Summer rubber is far too unreliable in as little as 2 inches of snow. The interior is rumoured to include a front bench seat with hideaway arm rest, its a subtle touch of retro on Chevrolets part. AM/FM radio, manual windows and heat round out the rest of the standard interior equipment." I'm not sure I believe this. We have seen the dealer playbook, and this trim isn't mentioned. Also, some of the features listed aren't available on any car that GM makes at this point, and you would think the car would have to be completely parts bin made to be profitable, such as a bench seat.

Not sure where this source came from... My initial thoughts were that this was BS also. My second thought was, "Let me put this on Camaro6 and see what the Gurus think!"

Yeeeeah, no.
The bench seat thing gives it away. Acutally, the bench seat, the no A/C, steel wheels, and unpainted bumpers all give it away. Someone thinks they're funny! They wouldn't build a car without power windows and locks today if they wanted to - that would actually INCREASE the cost of the car, to make manual windows and locks optional, or standard..... or whatever. Just keep this in mind: part of the surcharge for the 5th gen Camaro Z28 is to cover the extensive wiring and ECU changes required to make A/C optional. |

Winter tires standard? Bench seat? Manual windows and locks? Optional AC? Yeah. Sure. Not happening.
