Sunroof no longer available on 1LE?

New here. I went and test drove a 2019 2SS 1LE yesterday that was equipped with the sunroof. We went in to try and place an order and when the salesman added the sunroof, it deleted the 1LE package. Did GM eliminate the sunroof mid-year on the 1LE? Strange as they had 2 2019 SS 1LE's on the lot with the sunroof.

Not sure but sunroofs add weight and decrease structural rigidity-neither are good for performance. 1LE is all about performance...

If you have any thoughts of tracking it make sure you fit with a helmet on..

This has already been discussed. No, it doesn't decrease rigidity to any appreciable extent, the middle of the roof does not carry the majority of the load, it's not relevant. It's only a few lbs more, it's fairly inconsequential.

IMO, it does a lot to make the car seem more "open" inside, even if it does decease headroom a little. That said, either you want it or you don't. No worries.

the ZL1 can be ordered with a sunroof. The SS 1LE is essentially the ZL1 minus the engine.

Don't tell me you can't track a ZL1.

It's still available on 2SS w/1LE. Your dealer will need to submit the order using Quick Order. When using the normal "Configure a New Vehicle" build, it will force A1Y off of the order if you select sunroof. With Quick Order, it will accept it.

Thanks! He's supposed to call me back today, if he hasn't figured it out I'll have to let him know.

1SS 1LE = No sunroof
2SS 1LE = Sunroof available.

Which has nothing to do with this thread.

it ruins the roof lines of the car and if you actually track the car with a sunroof the body flex can actually break it

my buddy had a cobalt ss with a sunroof and tracked his every once or so and broke it about 3 times in 5 years not fun especially if they dont cover it and also less headroom for a helmet

I'm 6'5" and coming from a C6 Corvette. I'm used to tilting my head with a helmet on. I only took it to the drag strip a couple times.

I will honestly never track the car. But I did enjoy cruising the backroads with the top off in the Vette, wanted to get close to that in the Camaro.

And if this thread was about the Cobalt, that would make sense.

Gen 6 Camaro has much more structural rigidity than a Cobalt. No comparison at all. Helmet clearance is definitely a concern for taller drivers though.
