Road Tires for 20" Rear Wheels : 715 RWHP
Looking for some input on the best tires for 20" Rear Wheels. Not for Straight Line Drag Racing at the track but instead day to day driving on roads and highways. Specifically for being able to accelerate through corners (getting on/off highway ramps).
I have tried: NITTO NT555 G2 Tires.... don't grip well enough MT ET Street S/S.... grip well in a straight line.... not so much through corners + that wobble. I was planning on trying the Toyo R888R's next but they seem close to the MT's? Am I wrong? Any input is welcome.

Pilot Sport 4s is probably your next best bet for a street tire. When you step up to a Toyo R888R or Michelin Pilot Cup 2 or M/T ET Street radial similar soft 100 tread wear tire, the grip will be amazing but the tire life will be short.

4s is going to be my next set in a couple of weeks. A friend at work has them on a Mustang, and I've been impressed with them on his car

Thanks. Not so much worried about the life of the tire.... just kinda the way it goes with owning a performance car.
More concerned with the "softness" while executing high speed turns on the highway. Would the R888Rs or pilot cup 2's be a little more firm or are they just as soft as MT's?

R888r's are amazing. Good straight line grip,Not as grippy as MT's but close, good cornering. Will wear quicker than pilot's.

I had the Pilots on my C6 and much prefer the R888R's. Much better grip all around.

Any reason that the BFGoodrich G-FORCE COMP-2 A/S are not being considered?

The tires being discussed are summer tires, worthless below 40 degrees. Great for track or aggressive street use. BFG is an all season tire, acceptable street performance that last a lot longer.

I can attest that for street driving, the Pilot 4s tires are awesome, now that I've had them for a month or so. They grip really well, without needing to heat them up as much as the stock GY tires.
