Wiper blade life

Coming up on my first full year with my 2015 and I need to replace my wiper blades... again!

First set ripped at 5k miles and were most likely factory ones that were 2 years old. ok. I can see that.

The set I replaced them with were Bosch Icons (or something like that), kinda pricey, but one of them just ripped only 10 months later!

Both did a fantastic job while intact so doesn't seem quality related.

Do these cars just have super heavy springs in the blade arms that just wears out the rubber blades faster?

Also, OK had a super mild winter as far as ice and snow goes, so wasn't related to that.

thanks!

Not sure what brand blades are on my Camaro. I bought my Camaro in December of 2013. Not sure if they were ever changed before that, but I haven't changed them since buying the car.

I kept the original blades at least 5 years, and replaced them with OEM blades from the dealer.

Were yours OEM? The streamlined ones?

One year life is typical for cars that are parked outside; mine's garaged so out of the sun.

I've been having issues with Bosch Icons lately. They were my go-to replacements for the longest time, but they've been tearing at the bottoms (left end) of the blades on a few different vehicles that I've had the replacements for.

Now for the Camaro, I've just stuck to stock replacements and they've been awesome. Get a good 2 years out of each set before they streak even after cleaning. DD car that gets hit with all of the elements, so I'm happy with 2 years.

I live in an extremely arid climate where we get very little rain and still have the original blades on my 2013. Just so happens we've had some rain yesterday and I had to go out; they are still working great.

I guess I just pulled the short straw!

Do I need to get OEM's from dealer? Parts stores and Amazon don't have "GM" brand blades. What is the cost of the OE's ?

2014 with only one replacement and that was last year with new OEM blades. The old ones had not ripped but they squeaked! Problem is with the NC summers being so hot I try to keep the girl inside when not in use.

I feel stupid asking, but the OEM should be AC\Delco brand, right?

I haven't changed mine yet in the 2014 but my experience with kid cars is that the expensive blades work better but don't last as long. Cheapo Autozone wipers seem to last forever.
