Starts and ends with Reliability for me also. When I start wondering should or shouldn't I take my truck or tow my boat that far away because it might break down on me when I am out there I want a new one. we had fords in the 90's chevy's in the 2000's now me and my dad both have Toyota's, after my wife's forerunner did 190K miles with only oil changes and brakes and 1 new set tires I had to give their trucks a shot.

If you need a V8 for towing/hauling, you don't need a Colorado...you want a FS. The LFX in the Colorado is plenty powerful enough to do what should logically be done with a midsize truck.

If you want the V8 simply for the fun/performance....well....good luck with that. I doubt we'll see a V8 "extreme" like option for this truck. Hopefully I'm wrong.

There's a guy I know who tows with the LFX and it does ok- just downshifts to get in the power band more than a V8 with more grunt down low. We have a lot of hills around here. He drags around a camper that's not terribly light and he loves it.
Getting used to the more modern engines having the power band up high will take getting used to if all you are used to is big V8's.

"Ford F series best selling truck" has always been total ford marketing BS. They count GM and Cheveroleto separately in their propaganda.

So having read the article, it says the Tacoma sales comparison was for 1 month. It says typical Tacoma sales are 8 to 9,000 per month.

So the article could have read, "Toyota Tacoma outsells Toyota Tacoma 2:1" and would have been equally correct.

You never know what dealer incentives are on the table to move product. Granted Toyota doesn't seem to have any real incentives on to the customer, but dealers could be getting butt loads of cash to move product.

Colorados, and F series for that matter, are selling all that they can build, which also means that they can sell them at a premium. Lower sales, but more profit.

I wouldn't call it propaganda I would call it more a technicality.

It is not Ford's fault that GM decided to split their pick ups under two different brands. the F-series is the only nameplate that Ford sells their Full Size trucks as. GM sells them under two nameplates, thus their sales are not combined.

There have been some years where F-Series outsells both Chevy and GMC and years where GM outsells Ford. BUT technically no other truck nameplate has outsold F-series.

does the Ford sales include the F150,250,350.450..........
Does gm include their 2500 and 3500 sale #'s.

It is all marketing bs anyways. Really look around at the avg person do you care what they buy? I don't, most are not all that smart so why would I care what they are doing.

In the end- buy what you like. Nobody makes a BAD car, they all have their positives and negatives.

The F-series is the best selling truck line.

Although GM has been the best selling truck manufacturer many times.

There's a reason GM Wentzville has supposedly started cutting lunch breaks. The plant can't build enough trucks.
So the "fastest selling" is referring to how long they stay on the lot, not the rate at which they are selling overall. For those scratching your heads, they are two different things.
