OPINION ON A SET OF HEADS.

OK guys, I think I am ready to pull the trigger and do the last item on my build that I have been contemplating for a while. Going to do a set of heads finally and am not sure which would be better for me. I am looking at the PRC 260's that TSP offers, or these from FED. Frankenstein/RK Speed Monster Heads
$2,750.00 FED .700" Dual Springs w/Ti Retainers,

Opinions, pros and cons, and what are you "big" guys using. As always, thanks for your help.

Those FED heads look amazing! Unfortunately, I don't have any useful feedback either.

I don't have anything to offer on those heads but I will tell you questions to ask. With the change in valve angle, how does it affect the rocker options available? The heads I have required different rocker rails due to spacing. However, I didn't like how the stock LS3 rockers (with trunion upgrade) contacted the tips of the valves. That spacing limited my options for fixed spacing rocker setups or finding an adjustable spacing setup. Either way, none of them are inexpensive.

The M311s come with billet rocker stands and work with stock rockers. They are sexy heads for sure. BUT, unless you special order them and wait, you'll have to take them with 73cc chambers. Not a big deal if your plan is FI someday, but you might not want to give up the compression if you stay NA. The PRC come in several chamber sizes, but Im not sure on the wait time.

Why are you shopping for 6 bolt heads? Planning on FI in the future?

Thanks so far guys for the input. I am shopping for heads as the final puzzle piece to complete my build for a 500+ rwhp streetcar, NA'd.. And from what I have read and learned on here, this mod will do it for me since I am already at 475rwhp. The car is a streetcar and will see the track maybe 4 times a year, and I plan to stay NA'd.

I havnt used either one but if I was to redo my heads I’d do the gpi ls7 heads. Will you run 93 or e85? I wish I had more compression but with the ss4 I already had to flycut quite a bit before we milled them. I do run e85 95%of the time.

I know you want 500+ but based off your Dyno you posted previously I don’t see it happening unless you change out more parts than use the heads. Did you ever get it Dyno again without the spike?

I dont have any input on those because I ended up going with GPI heads, I figured if they were good enough for Ryan that they would be good enough for me

They sent me the heads and I swapped my already upgraded valve train into them and sent mine back in to them (they did the valve job on them and the new heads came with the valves taped into place ready for my springs.)

Why not just port and polish your heads. They flow pretty well...

That's what I thought, but I picked up 73 hp with these heads, a custom grind cam and 102mm tb over heads ported factory castings.

Thanks Clark. Appreciated. Yea they said the only thing I would need to change was my pushrods, the 7.400's would be too short, but everything else I have will be ok.
