I did see what basically amounted to a Pro Stock car beat that twerp with the ‘ludicrous’ white one on YouTube. Ok, he’s a fast twerp!

I'm embarrassed to post this time slip, but since the subject of Teslas came up I thought I would share.

I don't know much about Teslas. I don't know what model the car was, but it said Dual Motor on the back. You can see it in the video below. I have no idea what "mode" the guy was in or anything else about the car. I asked if he would race me and he said yes.

I'm guessing he wasn't going "full send" based on his ET and trap speed. I completely flubbed my staging routine and ended up rolling forward on about the first or second bulb. It was all over at that point. My reaction time shows that I was asleep, woke up and made breakfast, then launched the car. He beat me to the 60' based on our reaction times, and it was all over after that. He beat me to the finish line, but my ET was quicker. I can't figure out how the times ended up the way they are because he was pulling away from me almost the whole way. I'm linking the video below.

Watch the first 30 seconds to get a good look at the Tesla, then skip forward to 3:30 to see the race. There was a problem with the track, so we sat there for 3 minutes waiting. I'm blaming my staging problems on that, just in case anyone's keeping score.

On edit: I calculated our split times, and the Tesla was faster everywhere except the 0-60' & 1,000'-1320'

Holy sh*t!!! That’s incredible! And that’s against a sport bike of all things.
Note to self....waive him on.
But I still prefer the passion and sound of an internal combustion engine coming out some pipes over silent electric.

Thanks for the kind words. That was a horrific launch, even by my low standards. I've been struggling on the starting line lately. My best 60' ETs are low 1.7 seconds, and they need to be 1.6x before I'll feel like I'm launching the car correctly.

Yes speed isn’t everything, the sound of the v8 is epic! A silent car is no bueno

My sentiment exactly. They sound like.... rushing air. The V8 is heaven.
