ZL1 Performance Drag Development Program

Question?

When this stuff is released - how much do you think it will effect the track performance - ZL1 Performance Drag Development Program

I just wanted to add the bolt on goodies - and keep stock tune (if possible) just want the ZL1 to have a bit extra, however I don't want to kill the track capabilities - thinking of just adding the BOLD ITEMS

DRAG DEVELOPMENT CONCEPT FEATURES

- Cold air intake system
- Larger throttle body
- Smaller-diameter supercharger pulley

- 110-octane calibration
- Magnetic ride control calibration
- Transmission calibration
- eLSD calibration
- Racing tires
- Racing driver’s seat with five-point harness
- Roll cage

What do you guys think?

I don't think it was ever intended to be released, was all just media hype.

You’d need to add a tune to the list if you want to add a larger throttle body and lower pulley. Your best bet is going aftermarket.

I run the RPM Chromoly 6pt Roll Bar and its a bolt in with swing out door bars on both sides. I also run Hoosiers front runners and hoosier slicks on 17" Race Star wheels and 100lbs in rotating weight savings. Sounds like you have a decent plan started, don't forget the truck and trailer.

100% doubt this package will ever be released. We just a few more years away from an update or 7th Gen Camaro anyway.

I'd like to think they are perfecting the package to be released within the coming year to stave off current ZL1 owners from jumping ship when the GT500 is released. I know I'd prefer to add the package to my current car over buying a new one. They could also be planning to simply roll the package into a future ZL1 as standard equipment or a factory option. If they do the latter, hopefully they will still give us current owners the option of adding the package to our car and keeping whatever remaining warranty we have at that point, or trading in for the new one. If the package is never released and the Stang turns out to be the Demon killer it has been hyped to be, then I'll likely make the switch.

Yes Sir...this is what I've been thinking as well. Chevy could give owners the opportunity to add hp and equipment that allows us to keep up with dodge and potential mustangs on the strip without having to release some new variant of a Camaro. It would actually be a killer smart move if they did! However it is my understanding that these upgrades will only be under warranty if used at the strip exclusively. So if you think you are going to add this Drag Pack....whenever it is released...and keep your warranty for your street car...not gonna happen. So...even if it comes out...LOTS of red tape involved!

Chevrolet is already advertising this drag racing parts in a magazine call FASTEST STREET CAR DRAG RACING. I just receive my article yesterday showing all the parts from Chevrolet. It's coming around slowly.

First I've heard of the warranty at the strip only. The strip is much harder on the drivetrain and everything, so if it's going to be warranted there, I don't see why they wouldn't warranty street use. The video they used to hype all of it clearly stated that as long as you bought the parts and had them installed from a dealership, that the remaining warranty would still be in effect, but that doesn't mean they can't change their mind on that, or provide warranty on some parts and not others. Hopefully we get to find out some day. Lol
