The ZLE perfermance is awesome, don't get me wrong, and I know lots of people buy the ZLE because of how well it performs given the price point. for me personally, I prefer a sporty muscle car, front engine, lots of torque, fun to drive on track, mountain roads, and around town. you have to understand what you are getting into from a chassis limitation perspective. the ZLE isn't going to defy the laws of physics. you have to make sacrifices on all levels, price, ability to increase hp, handling, traction etc. personally for me the ZLE comes out on top! If it doesnt work for you, great. go buy a porsche. I want one too someday. just not going to sell my ZLE to get one. The difference in price is very substantial though and for most is prohibitive considering the marginal increase in performance, driving experience, etc.. starting at 161k for the new GT3, but good luck getting an allocation. https://www.porsche.com/usa/models/9...odels/911-gt3/ |

No reason for it when they were able to get by with a wet sump. The oil pump issue has nothing to with that, it seems isolated to 2017-2018 models. It's very rare starting in 2019 leading me to believe that they used an improved pump.

The last time I remember GM promoting a specific engine in a campaign was the Quad4 in the early 90's. Hey, they could always weld a couple of those together for the new Z06. If ford could do it for Jaguar.... |

But it is a little curious why the Gen 5 (LS7) Z28 had it
Bumped into a kid with one this weekend, had the dyno sheet to prove he is making 610 hp to the wheels n/a - impressive Last edited by ZX-10R; 06-08-2021 at 07:34 PM. |

Wasn't there some oiling issues with the LS7? Maybe I am mistaken though. Yea, around 600whp in a c6z is pretty fun for sure, the cars weigh in the low 3k pound range. |

Major dry sump advantage is to lower the center of gravity and to drop the engine lower, you can't have a massive oil pain. Dry sump allows a shallow oil pain. The engineers must have been comfortable with the engine placement with a wet sump since its able to hold 10 quarts.
