finally got the car to a track - bolt on e85 18 ss 1LE
2018 ss 1LE
-2" speed engineering headers w custom 3" exhaust -mamo ported msd intake manifold -stock lt5 tb -rotofab dry -ethanol (e80 today) -17x9.5 rear with 275/40/17 mt et street r -18x5 front -hurst shifter car made 441 on shortuning's dyno (dyno dynamics). da was right around 800'. no weight reduction except drag wheels. 3890 lb raceweight. im car 181 - left side. right side was a cam blower c5z. car launched hard followed by a healthy bog. that was the first pass of the day, also my first pass on a track since 2019. i got 2 more passes and due to lack of track prep it spun trying to launch it from 6k rpm. mph was the same but the et was 11.7x. i think it wouldve gone a little quicker if i could've hooked without the bog.

Goals! What a good pass and nice times. That’s the exact same time I want too and stay bolt-on. Now I’m thinking that MSD is a better choice than the ported stock or the LT2 manifold.
IIRC you had the LT2 and got rid of it for the MSD.

yes, i did. it definitely needs some rpm to get out of the hole, but idk how much of that is the manifold and how much is the 3900 lb m6 car..?

supporting story: i found a guy at the track with a procharged a8 car, basically 100% stock except the p1sc, tune and some drag radials. he said it made 610 on a local dyno. our cars 60' & trap the same, he went 11.2x.

i am bummed i didn't hit it harder when the track was good. weather was the best we've had so far this year. temp in the mid 50s right after a storm had moved through, but it was windy. we were seeing 20-30 mph crosswinds. ill be honest and say i had a pretty good idea what to expect from dragy use on the street, but i hadnt made a clean hit since mid summer 80* & 3k da.
there was also a stock 21? a10 LT1 car up there, nothing but a mickey thompson. he was running 12.0 @ 117. he just wanted an 11.9 and i think he got it as i didn't see him after the second qualifying pass. i have exacerbated the -slop in the shifter issue- to the point i think i've damaged the linkage or something else. i'm going to remove the shifter again and most likely end up pulling the trans. idk what's wrong with it, but it is making fast shifts increasingly more difficult. i have plans of hitting the road courses next year. i want to get this ported hi ram on the car and see how it affects the power curve first. i also have an ati damper to install. prob have to peel the cyl heads off (more on that fiasco later) so i've been trying to find a set i can port/mill to put back on. i did notice the map kpa as low as 95 again (down from 100).

Nice pass. The car is strong for sure. The pulley and no bog should get you 10s no problem

Congrats on the good time! M6 putting in work Forsure. Gaining 30mph from the 1/8 to the 1/4 isn’t something you see everyday
Just for comparison here’s my 2017 A8 SS CA cat deletes, unported LT2 from GPI, E85, Pray tuned 800 DA and 3800lbs RW if I had to guess |

So I just realized that's the exact same build I have on my C7. Mine made 460 or so and I've run 10.90@128. Is your car weight including you in the drivers seat? That's really a good 60' for a manual trans so if you take the weight of my C7 which is 3375 with driver then those numbers are right on target with your car over 400 lbs heavier then mine.

the dragy showed 97.8 mph in the 1/8. i think the 1/8 mph on the timeslip is reflecting the bog more than anything. the car usually picks up 26-27 mph on the top half. due to lack of track prep & the cold temp, i launched the car like it was on the street, expecting it to spin. i didn't get on the throttle after the clutch hit for these reasons. it dead stuck off the light and about died haha.

I wouldn't worry about that draggy stuff, true measures are the timeslips and yours pick up 30 mph which is dam good. Mine back close to that and thats where the Mamo ported Msd comes into play. Makes more HP up top for sure. Mine actually lost a couple hundreds on average with the Msd compared to the ported Lt1 manifold I had when I cut the 1.56 60ft. Mine averages about 1.58 now with the Msd but my mph went up about 3-4 mph average over the Lt1 IM in the quarter, little less in the 1/8.
