I’ll stick with Kooks even at the higher price. Buy American!

Feel the same way. Saving money on headers at the expense of putting your fellow Americans out of work? No thanks. Not condemning anyone…to each their own. Just prefer to buy American when I can.

For the wire harness on the passenger side. Make sure u put a clip or zip tie to pull that harness over farther away. I Had a guy on youtube message me not to long ago he had burnt some wires in that spot.

I agree with your statement on buying American, but I'm sure that about 1/3 of our Camaro's are not built in the USA. I remember back in the 80s where Walmart used to post signs all over their stores promoting made in America, you sure don't see that anymore. Wish that wasn't the case but just gotta deal with it. I had Kook's on my Magnuson SC G8GT and they were top quality for sure but as mentioned they are a bit pricey.

Gonna disagree. I’ve had cheap headers in the past (Texas Speed, OBX) and they can be great or suck.

ARH can even be hit or miss which is unforgiveable.

Kooks always fit perfect.

Glad your SE headers are working out for you; you gambled and won.

You know this thing about buy American. I support to the bone the American worker I am one but these days its more about your supporting the millionaire opps I mean the billion air that wont pay their workers much and just suck out every thing for them selves.
Worker makes what 18 20 bucks an hour welding ceo and his buddies make what 20 million. Then wants you to think the people starveing are the problem while they dont even pay as much in taxes as the guy making the 20 and hour. people fall for that crap right and left. They laugh all the way to the bank thinking how great and masters of the universe they are.

How do we know where these headers are made anyway they came from California. Their were American workers their at least that sold them to be.

So, we should just quit and give up? Or buy American when a quality product if offered? I’m not saying your wrong, and I understand globalization isn’t going away. But if the opportunity to do the right thing presents itself, it’s great to be able to do that.

Speed Engineering is Chinese based on the research I did before buying my headers. Same with TSP. I can bet with with great certainty the owners of ARH and Kooks didn’t pocket “$20 million” and I know for a fact they pay their fabricators more than “18 20 bucks an hour welding”…. Your point is totally valid on a big part of what is sold in America these days, just not in this particular case. Sorry if I derailed the thread, just feel like it’s part of the cheap header discussion.

I will purchase the more expensive American product if and when my finances allow me to make such a decision. These last few years (regardless of who ran office) financial growth, promotions, or better employment opportunities have been non existent. In my case and the case of several others who still enjoy modding regardless of income, my money for headers would go to the lowest bidder, the China headers in this case.

Its cool to say "support the USA", "Buy American " etc when you actually have the financial means to make that choice. For those of us who need to make careful calculations to stretch the smaller paychecks enough to afford the headers and mods, the China headers are very attractive.

For me its hard to justify 1500 or more for the exact same thing. The quality is there. What would I gain by going with kooks? As far as I can tell nothing. At 2 grand plus Im not sure I would even buy a set. On another note.

So did a little short drive last night, its was 25 deg but the tires were 45 or so from the start being in the garage so took it easy. The vibrant vpe-1142 ultra quite resonator is that. It has 0 drone thats the good news 0 at any rpm. cruseing is almost too quite and of course when u hit it say at least half it sounds like a race car. Still not too loud and nothing like it was with the new era cat delet pipes. That was insane loud. I was afraid the cops would be called on me any second with those. So time will tell. Car has the dual mode exhaust and with the valves closed its a mouse. Caint even hardly hear it at all. Same as stock or quiter maybe.

If you wanna buy American then buy a Honda. They're the most "American" built cars out of any manufacturer.

It's one thing to support certain businesses. It's another thing entirey when those businesses are increasing their prices to the extent that most people can't afford them. Support American businesses? Sure. But they also need to do their part and support American consumers. When some people get better deals than others or when some don't get any deals at all, how is that fair to hard working Americans who want to buy things with their hard earned money? So these ideals are a bit silly to me. And no, I have nothing against any of the top brand headers. I can afford them for sure. But when TSP and others are offering similar product for more than half the price then there is no reason for me to pay more.

Interesting

“2020 Chevrolet Camaro
Overall, General Motors (GM)’s products racked up the highest domestic content score with 70.6 percent of the components making up its vehicles assembled in the U.S. - up from 70 percent last year and 58.2 percent across all models (those made in any country).”
