The OP already made up his mind. I think he is more concerned with the aftermarket intake on the V6 he is planning to acquire.

in missouri you dont pay taxes twice.
How do you get that kind of millage? I will say that I have a lead foot and have a lifetime average of 16 mpg. I spanked a loud V6 Camaro today, he asked for it, and I gave it to him. Ain't a day goes by, that I don't see red in my HUD.

- In california you do. (by this, i mean that we pay taxes on the price of the car whether it's new, used or our trade in amounts to more / less than the other car - we're taxed on the full selling price, i wasn't sure if Missouri worked this way or not also)

i feel like 41k is alot of miles for when you first buy a car. because when you pay it off itll be at 100k miles. itd be time for a new car pretty much. lets say i get a v6 with 20000 miles itll take me over TWO YEARS to get to where my v8 is at right now. let that sink in.
like i said, it's your money and your choice. enjoy whatever route you take.

Don't do it. If you loose 2K and you save $30/month on gas it will take you 7 years to break even and the car will be worth a whole lot less. I get 25 mph on the Highway with my 2010 SS stock. Your logic is flawed to put it nicely.

If I set mine on cruise and just drive in a flat straight line, I may get 26MPG, but that's not stopping at redlights or any city driving. You can't say you get 25 MPG on average, that is unless you drive with 1% throttle.

Yeah, I get a compliment almost every time I step out of my car when I bring it out..Our color really does pop.

I had a V8 Charger before the Camaro and I just couldnt handle the gas being guzzled constantly, and a V8 with my agressive DAILY driving really puts me around 10mpg..

So I am one of those people that moved from V8 to V6 also, have no complaints.

It is more than just the difference in gas used and cost of the gas. The SS costs more for:

1) Oil changes,
2) Differential fluid changes,
3) Transmission changes,
4) Tires,
5) Brake pads,
6) Rotors,
7) Shocks/struts

and so on. At 41,000 miles the SS may need tires, brake pads and shock/struts real soon.

Ok, at first I thought the OP was just a bit odd, but after reading comments like this I'm totally lost. It's not April 1st. Are Prius owners trolling the site??

I had a 2LT for a while and it was a great car, but I could never go back to a V6 after owning the V8. Honestly the thing I love most about the V8 is the exhaust note. There is just something about the sound of a V8. You can improve the sound of a V6, but they inherently sound awful. I get that different people like different things, but prefering the sound of a V6...

I tracked down the previous owner of my car to find out why he sold it after just five months. One of the things he told me was it had Magnaflows and he removed them to put Flowmasters in. He went on to say they both sounded the same anyway. At that point I stopped communicating with him. Was he yanking my chain or was he a little touched? Either way, just not my kind of guy.

Based on the quote above it doesn't sound like you made a informed decision when you first bought the car. I'm not sure how you don't understand how many miles 41,000 is. You are evidently very young and or very inexperienced at buying cars.
It won't be long before the V-6 has as many miles as the V8 and you'll be missing the power.
You will have to live with the decision so good luck with it. Hope you are happy with whatever you decide.
