Borla Old Atak vs waiting

So we know the NPP ha hd problems the new stock seems
To be taking forever is it ok to buy an older Atak or is that asking for issues ?

spoke to borla issues after issues they said not to buy old stock they are deep into warranty replacement and won't be shipping new units for 2 months

that being said , could I add a x pipe mid pipe and delete the secondary cats to the stock exhaust? while waiting for the atak to clear R and D?
