Only 15K miles, but not under waranty???? 2013

Man I'm steaming. I bought every darn added extended warranty for this 2013 HotWheels SS Manuel coupe and barley driven and ALWAYS garaged. Never even rained on, but My seat cover is just coming off the driver's seat, letting the underlying yellow cushion stick out like a 20 year-old hooptymobile. Chevrolet will not fix it????? They said the cover is defective and I have to replace the whole thing at full cost. I'm about to just zip screw the whole thing onto the metal surrounding frame, but on my beloved HotWheels SS!!!! Not ideal. How is this item not under warranty?

They said "defective", but they're not covering it? If it's defective, then they should cover it.... literally, on their dime.

Considering it's a 2013, it sounds like it's under extended warranty vs. original bumper to bumper 3 year/36,000 miles. What extended warranty did you get - is it a full bumper to bumper? Coverage should be clearly outlined in the contract.

Isn't your car 4 years old? GM doesn't warranty these cars forever and Lots of things are
EXCLUDED from these extended warranties. Best to read the small print before signing.

I'm guess that they are considering the seat cover a 'normal wear and tear' item thus not covering it under the warranty..
How long have you noticed the seat wearing??

Read the fine print on all your warranties to see what they actually state as not being covered. You might just be surprised.

Yeah, save the steam for when you bust a valve spring and they won't cover it because you put a screw in the seat cover!

My 2014 was still under the 3 year bumper-to-bumper, the seat cover was replaced under warranty when this rip appeared (pic below); after using seat heater on high on a 15 degree day. Created a thread about the experience.
They replaced the cover while I watched, dealer employee did a perfect top notch job, amazing work.
Can you post a photo of your damaged seat cover??? Did the retainer strip(s) break?

The front retainer clip is not holding at all. The long plastic piece. I'll look up my warranty info, but thought that would be a simple covered item. Bummed. I may find a way to get it to hold w/o drilling. Just sucks that it's busted with just 14K miles and babied so much.

Biggest reason to not go for the extended warranty right here. I bet you paid more for the warranty than the seat cover will be too. Sorry to pour salt in that open wound.

I have a set of cloth covers in the free section if that's what you need.

See if your extended warranties cover the same items as your bumper to bumper. In many cases extended warranties may not cover everything. Its a bummer; I've been caught out there a few times with very little miles but out of the mfr. warranty. That is why I purchase extended warranties: Sometimes you don't use them, but sometimes you may need it.

My covers are black leather red stiched with HotWheels logos. Doubt anyone has those laying around. I'm just gonna glue the plastic strip onto the front rail, or a few screws, but what a piece of poop. I did pay more for the warranty than the seat covers would cost. I never buy those, and now I remember why. These seat covers are very cheap. I'll have thick leather ones custom made like I did for my 300ZX Twin Turbo show car. Hog rings work better than cheap plastic. The Rt. side of the seat cover is also coming off. I can't see a way to reattach that. Taking the seat out this wk. end and I'll just fix it. POS....
