Tires?

Anyone know of some tires that last awhile but still have some decent traction??

Went through my 305 Mickey Thompson street comp street tires in 3 months...

Not even sure why. It's not like I've been burning out everywhere I go. Haven't even been to the track.

If anyone has any advice please let's hear it! Thanks!

I've been running Continental DWS tires for the last 3 years for Fall, Winter, and Spring. I like them a lot. Much better traction than the Good Years in the cold weather and they don't pick up and throw every bit of sand and dirt under my car. I probably have 15,000 easy miles on them with no signs of wear. They don't make our exact size so I run 275-35-20 on fronts and 315-35-20 on the rears with no trouble. My car is the red one and you could see the tread pattern.

My friend put some Nitto NT555 G2's on his 1LE and they have pretty great dry traction, even in cooler temps. Way better than the Goodyear F1 G2's that came off of there. Those were great when it was 80 and sunny, and junk whenever the temps would drop off, even a little. He's got a 275/315 staggered setup - I couldn't break them loose at all unless I was really horsing them. Made a few launches and was really impressed with their street traction. I'm planning on a set for mine.

I have Michelin Pilot Super Sports with 20k on them and still going. Little less performance than the F1's but much better in cold. No cracking sidewalls.

I have Continental Control Contact Sport A/S (Discount Tire spec). 30,000 miles on them and nearly half of the tread remaining on the rears. I do rotate side to side but have the staggered setup so they cannot rotate to the front of course. Fronts barely show any wear.

They are starting to harden up a bit and I'm getting a bit of squeal on fast corners that I didn't get before but I'm still happy with the tires. They've done well for me in 15 degree to 120 degree weather.

Less than 2k miles in those 3 months. The fronts still look like new. I'm still trying to wrap my head around what happened.

Been looking at both the continental and Michelin. Boy are those expensive!

Im running the same tires, they have about 800 on them now...still look good.

But what i noticed, under hard acceleration, not even spinning they are leaving black marks in the road, they are super soft. I was told i should get 3,000 miles out of them.

Gotta pay to play (and hook) at these power levels!!!

Oh and I do NOT do burnouts with these tire...none...zero....!!! ill roll up to about 20mph then drop the hammer, but no hard launches or burnouts of any kind!

I thought the ET Streets were the ones that go about 3000 miles? These Street Comps I thought were like regular radials that had a little better traction that would last me a couple years...

Well crap. I can't buy new front tires too so I'm stuck with the MT up front. My least expensive route is to get another set of matching rears and don't drive fast. lol

MT. Street Comps $197 each. Summer. 300 tread wear

Continental DWS06 $279 each. All Season 560 tread wear

Michelin pilot super sport $395 each. Summer 300 tread wear

I'm leaning a little toward the Continental and hope that they wouldn't suck to bad if I take it to the drag strip...
