Help my center console turned grey!!

I had the top down on my 13 vert and it started to rain. the center console got wet and left grey water spots that would not come out. I wiped down the console with a damp micro fiber cloth and the whole console turned grey! I can not get it black again no matter what I do. Anyone have any ideas what happened and what I can do to get it back to black?Name: IMG_20170715_193011610.jpg

I did. I tried Meguiar's quick detailer and leather cleaner and conditioner with no luck.

I would not use back to black. That part of the console is leather. Use black shoe polish. The kind that is in the small can and is like wax. Works best if you use your fingers to work it in as that puts in a little heat as it is applied. Then treat the leather with a conditioner.

What is strange is that none of the other leather was affected by the rain. Can anyone give an explanation of what happened? The interior of the car is always kept meticulously clean. I only use Meguiar's products both in and out. The car never sees rain. I just happened to get caught in a brief shower with the top down on the way home from the store so this is the first time the interior ever got wet. Could this part be defective in some way?

Although they are listed as leather they're vinyl.

I would try this; if it doesn't work then I would try a leather dye.

Don't use shoe polish unless you want your arm to turn black. Only thing to use would be this. https://m.summitracing.com/parts/smm...BoCACcQAvD_BwE

Only issue is your stitching will be black after using it. This stuff really rocks though. I've used it on a ton of old muscle cars

Your center console is black the arm rest not.....now a spray on color....like black could have been applied to the console lid that did come off with rain....That's My opinion and I used to be a auto upholsterer and furniture when I was young. Spaying colors on mismatched parts from various cars interior colors can be easy with can of vinyl spray paint...old school make it blend turn and burn sell it...... So you either bought the thing used, or someone screwed up the consoles arm rest and replaced it with ingenuity..... BTW there was a grey Camaro interior..... https://www.bing.com/images/search?v...verlay&first=1

theres one with the Camaro performers on its pic showing a more grey console most are black. And that pic you have appears unlike the match I have for the console lids of both of the two SS I have owned. Your solution is simple replace it with a stock replacement of take it to a upholstery shop to match the correct black tearing off the cover or simply applying leather over it will require glue and a steam tool attachment and stretching the leather with time to get it to glue down over the lid right and can be made with simply a piece of leather and upholstery sewing machine. Or you can get a can of flat black vinyl paint to touch up vinyl.....though it should be leather..and why it did not stick.. because.....That's the only explanation for your circumstances I can pretty much Figure as its old school turn and burn baby....

I've had mine spotted that same color due to water. After the water dried out after a couple of days it returned to black.
