On the long front straight at the last event I was able to tap "mark start finish" and "start recording" while hauling ass

Can one not do it when exiting pits before a lap starts?

It's very easy to do for PDR, just tap the nav screen where it says to and you are good to go. This only has to be done once per track, it will remember it after that every time. First lap out is usually slow under yellow anyways, right? So just reach down and tap it the first lap of the day. I would do it on track, not pit lane. Because it's GPS enable it may not detect a lap since pit lane is "off course".

I bring my laptop with and pull the SD card between sessions to check out lap times. But yeah would be sweet to have something real time.

You'll need to define the finish line on our about the actual start/finish line so the PDR/GPS will pick up each lap accurately. If you set it in the pits, you'll never cross that line again so the PDR would just register one huge long lap.

And just to be clear, once I "define the finish line" from the my link screen while recording, it will store that GPS data so I won't have to define it again? Even if I run the same track a day or week or a month later? The PDR GPS will remember that finish line once I start recording? What if I go to another track and define a finish line there, will it clear the previous track finish line data previously stored?

Thanks
Jason

Again, I can't stress it enough, test the PDR around your neighborhood so you get the hang of it before messing with it at the track. Even if we had to "define finish line" every time at the same track or not, it is super easy to do on the parade lap or "out" lap. No one should be driving balls to the wall first lap anyway.

Can the PDR be set so you can view the live video while on track?

So you can see your lap time?

You can view your laps after your run playing the vid back on the infotainment screen. But you cant display lap times real time while youre driving.
