I'm thinking along these lines. I want something different than everybody else I know. So, 1014 anyone?

I would love to see one but I have only been looking at getting one for a few months. Gonna have to wait for the next gun show.
That's sweet!! What are those going for?

Not cheap. Cheapest one I have found is something like 1500 dollars. Crazy, but I better be able to get an 8 round cap for that price. But from what I have read civi's only get a 4+1 round cap. Military gets 8+1

I've always heard the M1 has huge recoil, is this true? Nice collection BTW.

Never shot one myself, but my educated guess: It'll be more than an M16/AR15 (obviously, those things barely have a recoil), but it's not going to knock you on your butt by any means. Remember, these rifles were used in combat, so soldiers had to fire these things A LOT and ACCURATELY, two things which an overly large recoil would stop. I'd guess it'd probably be pretty close to my Swedish Mauser. As long as you hold it tight to your shoulder (like you should with ANY rifle/shotgun), you'll be fine

I got the understanding that this thread would be like the sports lounge? Any chance of that?

Yeah I'd kinda like that better, so that we can post separate topics and such.

I can't have one. I mentioned a gun outside of work and lost my job. Babies all over. I saw a TERRIBLE car accident and commented that a car is like a loaded Gun, if you don't know how to use it somebody dies. That got back to H.R. and 3 days later I was GONE. I have never owned a gun. WTF what a sick world. GOD HELP US ALL.
