Outdoor Car Cover

Anyone have personal experience with a good outdoor cover brand? I live in Montana so it'll see some snow and wind until our home remodel is done and I get my garage back. Mainly looking for something to protect the paint and interior from UV and not scratch the paint. Hopefully something that fits well and doesn't flop around.

I will ensure the car is clean and the cover is clean before I put it on, but it may stay on the car for a month or two. It wont be driven until the snow and salt are gone. I have a cheap set of tires that go on in winter on the stock wheels.

Here is what I have covering my baby. Had it for about 5 years now and it has been through many, many bad thunderstorms and winds, not to mention several bad hurricanes. Fits like a glove and is soft on the underside, and has grommets on the sides so you can secure it tight with a piece of thin rope.

Had real good luck with this and the linked tie downs. With a locking cable under the center Doesn’t move at all Car looks just as clean as it did when I covered it

We used California Car Cover superweave on our Corvette for ten yrs in chicago area with no problems, just added a couple tie downs for the wind was great.

Hey buddy. This car cover you recommended doesn't chafe the paint up when the wind blows does it? Because I bought one from amazon that did a real number on my paint last year when the wind blew around it putting chafe spots all over it. It seems like a really good deal.

Hey there, nah, that cover has been through 3 hurricanes and many many big windy thunderstorms, and no issues. It is pretty soft on the underside. I have to order another one as the neighborhood ferral cats have ruined this one. But it is about 5-6 years old.

Personally, I think when covering a car outdoors you are bound to get some light marring on the paint when the wind blows. Might be the lesser of two evils in your situation, but I wouldn’t expect it to be perfect paint under there. I covered my car outdoors for a while, and used cords to tie the cover down, but inevitably dust or dirt blows under the car and gets in between the paint and the cover, and when the wind blows and the cover flaps it makes little swirl marks in the paint. Maybe you won’t notice or mind little stuff like that, but I stopped using the cover afterwards.

Yes sir that's exactly what happened to my car. I had a cover on outside for like a week during last winter so the dogs could have the garage and I got marring all over the place, like really bad. Also my car is black.
