Anyone know if the 1LE track pack lowers the car any?

It does not. Springs are the same as the SS.

Just curious, but why do I never see Spohn Performance trailing, lower control arms & toe links mentioned. I believe that their parts are to be of a very high quality & am looking to possibly do some upgrades with Spohn parts.

If you are just converting to FE4, you can't beat the price of factory LCAs. Spohn's does not appear to be as beefy to me as BMR. Not sure what others might say.

If one were to go the 1LE package route, how would we retain a 1" drop from our old setup?

I assume 2010 Hotchkis drop springs won't work on the 1LE track kit?

Any spring that works with an SS works with 1LE. The 1LE uses the same springs. Now how a stiffer spring handles with the different shocks and bars is another question.

Weather is turning cold next week. Put SweetneSS is the garage for the 1LE+ upgrade. I also bought new wheels so that I can go to a square set-up. That means my '74 Blazer is bumped to the driveway and tarped to cover the full convertible.

As I'm starting on the suspension project, I'm considering replacing the Rear Springs, remember there are 284,000 miles on my car. Would there be a benefit to replacing them, or would it be money wasted?

Do you plan on keeping it and refreshing the motor and trans? Are you on the original struts/shocks? Do you want to lower it? All those would be reasons to invest in improving the springs and probably struts while you are in there.

Yes, eventually. the engine is still running strong. My Synchronizers in the transmission are displaying signs of wear.

Yep, replacing the originals.

I'm having trouble finding replacement springs. It seems there are plenty of lowering springs out there, but I want to keep the stock ride height. Any suggestions for finding them?

Many factory parts are discontinued and lots of guys like me trashed our low mileage springs because they aren't worth shipping. If you are not going lower, I would just use the springs you have unless they show damage once you get it apart. I doubt anyone makes stock height springs in the aftermarket so the only option for new ones would be GM. You could post a WTB ad in the suspension marketplace. There are quite a few hoarders in the car community.

Wish I would have caught you sooner ABM, I have a complete Rear cradle, diff with 3.91 gears, axles, hubs and rotors out of my 1LE. The unit has 6834 miles on it. Took it out and replaced with a complete ZL1 unit.

I did use the 1LE shocks and springs though. I do have a pair of ZL1 rear springs as well.

This unit is for sale for anyone who may have an interest. I'm not looking to be low balled as I do not need to sell. The unit has been in storage, in my attached garage, for over a year. I'm finding it hard to part with.

You can PM me here or email me at howardj273@gmail.com for more info.

Good luck with the make over ABM!! Enjoy.
