1LE Rant

Jk, its not actually about the 1LE but rather the stripes. This isn't as big of an issue as GM denying a warranty claim for a catch can, However, I'm not really happy about it and I'm wondering if anyone else has had the same issue.

March 22th: I reach out to NightShades (vendor on C5) Looking to order both side fender hash stripes of their NS-1 kit in Satin Black. Was told "no problem $100 shipped"
Paid through Paypal with Receipt

April 5th: Stripes finally show up. Like This. I'm not Blaming NightShades for the Box damage bc that happens with UPS. Its normal. However, the stripes were shoved into a box that was too small and not wrapped around anything which in turn didnt protect them at all.

Unusable.

I contact NightShades again and they take the appropriate action and ship more, but want me to ship the old ones back. Another $10 in shipping. So $110 into this.

April 6th: The package is sent back to NightShades.

April 21st: Stripes finally show up from NightShades. In better packaging

My car was in the shop for the month of April getting the entire front end repainted and some dents removed.

May 19th: I wait 4 weeks after the paint is finished and have my Painter install the stripes. I didnt realize that I shouldve unpackaged the stripes to make sure they were correctly cut.
So far I have paid $110 for a month of waiting and as far as I can tell, Half-a**ed hand cut stripes. The rounded portion doesnt follow the body line and actually comes up short on one side, on the other side the point actually is below the bodyline. And yes before you say anything the Painter laid them out and measured to make sure they were located in the same spot on either side. The photos don't really show how obvious the bad cuts are. You might call me anal but when my GF comes out to look at the new stripes and asks why they don't line up then you know you its bad.

So now I've reached out to the vinyl shop LimeLight Auto who is wrapping my spoiler tomorrow to see if the can replicate the stripes and cut them accurately. Thank you NightShades.

End Rant.

I don't see it?

What's the issues with the stripes you have installed?

I see a small air bubble that needs to be smoothed out....

Like I said its a little more obvious in person bc the sun glare is hiding it. But the bottoms of the stripes do not follow the fender shape.

It's obvious to me. I'd be pretty bummed also. But there is something to be said for factory stripes. I put a set of factory fender stripes on a 16 2SS during the PDI and they fit perfectly, the backing had a special shape as to line it up with where the fender and bumper and hood all meet to help get the alignment perfect.

I would love the Factory stripes... although I'm not sure they're worth $305

Decal/Stripe Package - Fender Hash Marks, Satin Black 22798335 $305.00

Gotta pay to play . Sometimes it's better to pay a premium for premium quality

Same issue with my Big Worm ones I even sent a email with no response. If you line them up on top of fender they are short if I line them up at the wheel well arc the top is short so I just split the difference and called it the day. I'll eventually get a local cutter or use plasti dip....

Agreed they don't look right I noticed it right away in the close up picture. did you contact night shades again? show them the pictures. you should take a picture of the other side also. you probably will not get your money back but you can let others know of your experience. talk to Spike he had hash stripes on his car at one time ask him where he got his. you know if they are good for Spikes car they are top notch.
Good luck!
