Best way to restore factory installed flat black racing stripes

Hey guys just wanted to see if anyone had any suggestions as I found a nice hood in Columbus Ohio today. Switched out my old hail damaged hood for this one. Trying to bring this camaro back to its glory days lol. Still need to find a deck lid and hopefully some pdr can fix the drivers side. The passenger side avoided the hail luckily.

A good quality ceramic coating like Avalon King might bring some new life to the stripes. I removed mine because they were in a similar condition. A $30 steamer gun from Amazon and they peeled up with no residue.

Cerakote might help, can get from Amazon.

Most likely will need replacing.

Screaming chicken can make you new stripes, just like the 3M Vinyl you have now. My vinyl guys says not to wax or ceramic coat them as you will shorten the life of the vinyl...

I just reached out to him to see if I can get some hugger orange stripes made up for my 2011 that will accomodate my ACS 14teen hood scoop, and extended spoiler vinyl for my dovetail spoiler. Hoping that he can make it happen. I love the all white and black look, but honestly the car is "missing" that pop of color from the rally stripes.

agreed no to waxing as my detailer said that but the ceramic has brought mine back to life considering they are original i figure whatever life they have left will work for now....

I’ve read in other places that heat from a heat gun can help them “heal themselves” to a certain degree but don’t expect miracles. Also I’ve read that adams revive polish works really well at bringing the vinyl back. I know polish/wax on vinyl is taboo but I’ve seen people swear by it online. Someone waxed mine before me and although the stripes aren’t killed by any means I’ve done some research on how to clean them up until I’m ready to replace them, which I already have the replacement stripes in hand it’s just a matter of a few details before I’m ready to go thru with it.

he did my inferno orange to accomodate my circuit style spoiler, and they were perfect!

Before I removed mine I used Adams polishes Vrt followed up with their brilliant glaze and it did a pretty good job.
