shipping cross country

I'm moving from NYC to Washington state(near Seattle) in 1 to 2 months. Does anyone have a reliable shipper to recommend and approximate price? Thx in advance!

I can't tell you who to hire, but I can tell you to avoid at all costs... Roadrunner Auto Transport. Don't ask me how I know.

I will second this...as the former owner of an auto-transport business (15 years), Road Runner was one of the only transport companies we would never do business with. Burned us once but never again!

I've used Reliable Carriers. If damage occurs, they will pay whatever it cost to make it right.

They put a one inch scratch in my 13 ZL1's rear quarter. My body shop quoted over $2,000 to make it like it never happened (no blending paint). Reliable sent a check the same day, no questions.

Just got a quote from intercity lines and they said $3695! Wow didn't expect that high price.

Would be a nice road trip, winter notwithstanding.

Honestly you should expect higher prices during the current madness than people got a few years ago. Diesel fuel is really expensive right now, I noticed recently on the east coast that in many places it's close to $4/gal. Costs the carrier more to make the trip now, therefore they must quote higher prices than they used to.

I just did an 1800 mile round trip last Memorial Day driving at night to avoid traffic. I loved it. Camaro 2SS trim was very comfortable.

I've used Montway twice recently (ask me why in a PM if interested, oh well), and they came through just fine in both cases, with very reliable service and careful drivers. Price was around $1 per mile for an open trailer.

However, I tend to agree with zx9rmal and hotlap, this would make for a very nice roadtrip if you're willing to take a deep breath

I just used Reliable Carriers last month for two cars. They had the best price out of all the main carriers I checked with.
