Another reason i am going with brushed clear is that i plan on getting the finish re-done down the line to a darker tint. APEX wheels are painted and not powder coated so I plan on having my buddy who owns a body shop scuff them then spray a dark tinted clear on it to get the below finish. Quote:

sspddmm, the brushed clear does look good too....
I may have just gotten use to the darker colored hem wheels, tough not being able to see them in person. Double check on the painted part. A video on their web site says they are finished off with powder coating.... |

It's also possible he was only referring to the power coated base coat mentioned in the description on the arc-8 and left the painted part off the video. Will have to check... |

Yeah will definitely have to make sure. During my research in getting my other forged wheels refinished, I found that there's a lot of controversy between powdercoating forged wheels. Just Google powdercoating vs painting forged wheels. Lot of topics back and forth of the two.

APEX confirmed they are going to have a group buy starting in March for the VS-5RS forged wheel.
The full range of fitments will be avail...18" and 19". Yes, we are hoping to get these wheels launched via an upcoming Group Buy that will go live later this month. 19" Camaro wheels will be included among other 19" fitments. We are working to finalize the photography for this deal currently. You can view the incoming Camaro fitments by clicking this link and selecting Camaro for the application: https://www.apexraceparts.com/our-wh...ontent-fitment https://www.apexraceparts.com/our-wh...ontent-fitment

I thinking of getting in on this group buy but have one thing I'm having difficulty with so asking for some opinions.
My issue is wheel size. On the non 1le I have 20's on the car and like the stance with the fender gaps, the 19's will be ok in the rear but have more of a gap in the front, not changing springs. Is it that much off from the 20's? Any real benefits other than maybe turning in a little faster and more tire choices? |

Yes, i think the 19"s will have more tire options but not sure if it will change anything for you if there is a tire you want to run in a 20" wheel. I am pretty sure you wont notice the weight difference either way 1" bigger or smaller for the same wheel. When the group buy launched and i priced these out, even with the group buy discount, etc., these are more than I thought they would be so i am going to pass on these wheels. |

Thanks for the input…know what you mean as the personal preference thing.
Don’t have many 1le’s around here to take a look, barely have zl1’s at all.. 325’s or bigger in a street perf. tire seem limited for 20’s Price wise, yeah a little up there but still competitive. I’m also looking at a couple bcforged wheels and yes they’re up there too… |
