I knew I opened myself up to that one...

Thx, I figured it would be a non-shorts affair with the 1/4 mile.

As your Camarocross Tech Manager, Required equipment will be a Snell 2005 or DOT equivalent rated helmet, and closed toed shoes with the exception of say work boots etc (we've had issues with those). Shorts are fine for camarocross, but long pants are usually required for Drag and I know will be for NCM.

Pete feel free to clarify if I'm missing something.

SA2015 rated one Open-Face helmet everytime I get closed helmets I have issues with fogging or my glasses. As i'm not doing NCM I don't need the closed face one per the NHRA rulebook.

Very informal for parade lap (info for that TBA). However, closed-toed shoes/no boots will be enforced.

Are hiking boots that aren't full on work boot style but more like high-top shoe style acceptable?

Final judgement is up to the discretion of the tech manager...

Edit- I have no ruling over NCM

The further we get from a wrap around your foot sleek 'driving' shoe the closer we get to an almost disaster we saw at a FEST. We never considered a 'boot' rule until we almost had a catastrophic accident.

The drivers foot slipped and got wedged under the brake forcing the heel down against the accelerator. The boot was large enough to get stuck. It was a freak accident that camethisclose to deadly. The driver could not get the boot free resulting in violent unintended acceleration. At the last second, the driver was able to get the boot free from under the brake and on the accelerator. The driver was terrified as was anyone who saw it.

It is OK to breathe now.

Sh** happens and we adapt. Now we have a boot rule. We would like to see everyone with racing shoes. Driving shoes are good.

Use your best judgement when selecting motorsports foot wear. Your life may depend on it.
