Why do you think I specified N/A V6? Name another manufacturer, besides Porsche, that makes a better N/A 6 cylinder engine today. And guess what--Porsche charges you 70K+ for a turbo 4, and 87K+ for an N/A 6 cylinder.

The engine isn't the only determination of a performance car. Lotus uses 4 and 6 cylinder Toyota engines in their cars. Does Lotus not make performance cars?

Chassis? The Camaro absolutely has a performance car chassis, regardless if you're talking I4 or V8. When GM can slap on some extra suspension, wheels and cooling to a basic V6 Camaro and embarrass other modern performance cars, don't come here with some bullshit about the chassis being too heavy or engine being too slow. Come the **** on.

Again, you have some inflated idea of what a performance car is. What is your baseline for a performance car? You haven't even said that. I bet you don't even have a baseline. Your argument so far has been 'anything but a V6 Camaro.'

You said performance is a moving target. Fine. The modern I4/V6 Camaros are still faster and will still out-handle the vast majority of cars on the road, including a Malibu V6, or whatever dumb shit you think is comparable.

This is especially true when compared to cars in their price range. Just because a car is built to cost doesn't mean it's not a performance car.

Anyway I'm done with your stupidity.

I'm sorry you're happy with .5G of acceleration and think that's "fast". Go ride bitch on the back of a MotoAmerica racer and you'll start to understand what fast actually is. Or find someone near Randy's level of talent and ride passenger. Or better yet, get into real racing and get past the Miata cup bullshit and you'll even experience it yourself.

Ad Hoc Rescue

The loudest whiny voices are coming from boomers with fragile egos who are now being told that objectively speaking their V6 is not nearly as much of a performance vehicle that they thought/were led to believe. I stand by my original point: buying a V6 Camaro is just riding on the coattails of the performance metrics of a V8 Camaro so posers can feel cool. If there was no LT1, SS, Z/28, or ZL1 trim, the Camaro wouldn't even be relevant. It'd just be a slightly better looking Camry/Accord/Altima.

True - although, the mods should step in here, IMO. Send this teenager packing. Clearly has a manhood issue. I think they make a cream you can rub on there to enhance/enlarge things but dont get any on your hands or it will make them bigger too!

just to add perspective to this,a 1970 camaro SS396 4 speed car would do 0-60 in 5.7 seconds and top out around 125,meaning a 6th gen V6 would be slightly ahead of it assuming both are factory stock.not too shabby...

I mean I would hope a car that’s 46 years newer would be faster even with 2 less cylinders. Engine tech has come a long way in that time

certainly, and so has tire and suspension tech.i just thought it was amazing to compare a car with just over half the displacement to the top dog camaro of 1970 (excluding of course the nickeys and harrells and special order aluminum 427 blocks) and be so compareable...yet according to MOdnar its not really a camaro.

if it hadnt been for the mustang there likely would be no camaro.chevy already had chevelles and novas and could have covered the performance angle with either platform.
