Always good to see people installing cams on their own instead of just opening their wallets...

Patiently waiting that first start vid...

I actually went to install it, and realized that I needed to make a couple brackets. I didnt want to rush/half ass them and I needed the car done today so I am going to do it another day. There are pics in my build thread.

Even if it wasn't varoompunk was very organized in this build.

Built not bought, is a good thing to brag about!

Yes and no, I did drop the engine and trans on my 98 camaro and replace the engine, though ive never done any internal engine work.

And I did it 90% by myself, my dad came and helped/watched for an hour or two.

Lot of research, took my time, and was organized like litle said.

final install pics

Everything went on relatively easy. Checking the trans fluid level and adding fluid was kind of a bitch. And getting the dipstick tube back in sucked.

Drove the car today, havent gotten crazy with it, but its definitely quicker, and pulls harder, cant wait to open her up later on.

Also installed a heat shield material inbetween the intake manifold and valley cover.

I would like to do this at some point, I have built an engine small block 383 (Chevrolet 350 w/ 400 crank). So I was just wondering if people with some experience can do this type of work. I wasn't sure what your level of expertise was hence the question.

Maybe in a year or two I will have the funds to do something similar.

Great Job!!!

I see that you are changing to the chain dampner, I stuck my cam in tonight but I'm still not sure if I want to change. I have the part but can't decide if I want to change or not. What made you decide to do away with the tensioner?

I did it at the recommendation of my shop (lethal racing), I bought the parts from them and they tune the car
