I personally wouldn't buy a sports car, especially a ZL1, in convertible unless it was a miata or s2000. Depending on your climate, the convertible can get old fast.

I wouldn’t do it simply because it’s a vert. That being said if you really want a zl1 coupe I would make the trade asap while your car is worth its highest at another dealer that has one. I would definitely have done the trade if it was a coupe.

For myself, a Convertible is always more fun than a Coupe! Add 195 more HP and a 6 speed manual and you have the ultimate fun cruiser!

You won't be able to enjoy the ZL1 vert at any track without a roll bar.

ZL1 COUPE > SS 1LE. EXACT SAME SET UP PLUS A SUPERCHARGER.

SS 1LE > ZL1 VERT
(LESS COOLERS OR NONE AT ALL, SS MECHANICAL DIFFERENTIAL DUE TO SPACE, HEAVIER DUE TO EXTRA BRACING) I'M JUST NOT A FAN CONVERTIBLES.

COUPE > VERT

It was worth it to me back in 2019 when I traded my 2016 2SS for a low mileage almost new 2017 2 year old ZL1. 2 months and it will be paid for! Do it is my advice if it won’t hurt you financially.

Thanks all! They lowballed hard on the 1LE. I also had permagrin plastered on my face today when I was able to take advantage of the weather.

1LE it is for now!!

Personally I wouldn't do it. If the ZL1 were a coupe I would consider it. I think you will sorely miss the handling aspects of your 1LE otherwise, and you already said your kids hated the wind. It sounds like you have the best car suited for your needs already.

What are you going to do with all of that extra HP? The 2SS is all the beast you want trust me.

Moe horsepower is better. But the vert ZL1 will be prevented from turning those horses loose on the track and the strip.

I guess I'll never quite understand the thought process for 650HP/torque for street driving, as I seem to be satisfied with 460. Hit the gas and you already have abundant torque and acceleration that gets you to "arrest me" speeds in no time flat.

Why on earth would you want to get to over 70 (2nd gear) or 100mph (3rd gear) even faster, with even less time to enjoy sounds and acceleration before you have to back out of it?

HAHA I had mine out today as well. Was nice to have a 70 degree day and the salt was all washed away.

I don’t agree with this reasoning. This same argument could be made towards the v6 as well, or even the need for a camaro at all.
