Request: LT1 Timing Chain Guide?

Merry Christmas!

Life is slowing to restart the LT1 build we are working on.

What is the thoughts on the LME Timing Chain Guide:

Looks slick, but expensive compare to a new OEM at $30.

We will be running a C5R chain, OEM gears, and shooting for 7000 rpm shift points along with long autobahn runs...

I put in the LME LT 'bow tie' with the C5R chain also. The chain will look like it is loose, LME says that's the way they run them. Good luck to us both!

If you are shooting for 7k, I would not run the stock unit. Here is mine installed. I assume you are doing the Katech oil pump also, while everything is opened up?

I am running the stock chain guide (new replacement) and I spin my LT4 to 8000 RPM. The chain guide failure seems to be very rare, so I am taking a chance on this one.

I purchased an LME guide with the intention of running it, but did not like the chain slop without the automatic tensioner. The only reason this concerned me, was because my PTV is dangerously tight. I have 0 room for error on missed shifts or valvetrain timing failures, even if the slop is on the slack side.

For most of my racing customers with standard valvetrain packages, I have them use the LME chain guide.

The chain tightens up some when the engine comes up to temp.
